Brewery Draconum is a family-owned and operated full-service brewpub and beer garden in Santa Clarita's Old Town Newhall, right on Main Street. Siblings Ben and Caroline Law share a passion for tasty brews and created this business together — which pays homage in its name to Ben's fascination with Latin and dragons — hence, Brewery "Draconum," — which means "dragon" in Latin.

This brewery's mission is to bring people together over tasty food and good beer. There are generally 12 in-house beers on tap, alongside a selection of guest taps locally sourced from throughout California. Ben and Caroline brew the beer right on-site, and they're always experimenting with new flavors depending on the trends and tastes of the season.

Must-try classic brewpub bites include the Bavarian-style soft pretzel served with Draconum Saison beer cheese and the "loaded totchos," Tater Tots loaded with Saison beer cheese, pico de gallo, crema, fresh guacamole and cilantro.

There's an alfresco beer garden out back which features a two-lane bocce ball court, cornhole and plenty of lawn games to enjoy a competitive tournament (to decide who buys the next round).

Brewery Draconum is an ideal destination in northern Los Angeles to meet a casual date for drinks, host a family outing or hang out with a group of friends for an afternoon or evening of fun. It's even within walking distance of the Newhall Metrolink station for easy access to LA along the Antelope Valley line.

Caroline and the magic brew

Excited by the prospect, Caroline decided to give the recipe a try. She gathered the ingredients listed in the recipe - a starflower petal, a moonstone, and a handful of fairy dust. Caroline carefully followed the instructions, mixing the ingredients in a cauldron and stirring the brew. As Caroline stirred the mixture, the potion began to emit a glowing light. She could feel the energy in the room change, and she knew that something magical was about to happen. Plucking up her courage, Caroline took a small sip of the potion. In an instant, Caroline found herself transported to a magical realm. Colors danced in the air, and the creatures she encountered spoke in a language she had never heard before. Caroline was spellbound by the beauty and wonder that surrounded her. She couldn't believe that she was living her very own fairytale. Caroline spent days exploring the magical realm, encountering friendly creatures and experiencing incredible adventures. She soon realized that the magic brew had the power not just to grant wishes, but also to unlock the true wonders of the world. However, Caroline also learned a valuable lesson. While the magic brew could create wonderful experiences, it couldn't replace the love and happiness she had in her own world. With a bittersweet feeling, Caroline bid farewell to the magical realm and returned to her village. Caroline's experience with the magic brew taught her the importance of appreciating the beauty and magic that already existed in her own life. From that day forward, she treasured every moment and sought out new adventures closer to home. Caroline's story serves as a reminder for us all to embrace our own curiosity and sense of adventure. Instead of seeking external magic, we should cultivate a deep appreciation for the enchantment that lies within our daily lives. Let us explore and discover the hidden wonders of our own world, just as Caroline did..
