Watched both this and original with my daughters. This is much more watchable as a adult. Themes are positive and acting is good. Really appreciate the split racial families like mine.

My grandchildren and I loved it! Had my grandchildren over for a 5 night stay. Mystery City was our afternoon go to everyday when the rain started and chased us indoors. They loved it and so did I. I’m still the favorite grandma! :)

It's not often you find a show that is mild enough for our girls and genuinely entertaining for adults, aaannd models positive messages through young girls who talk, act, dress appropriately for their age. Diva and I love this show! I think it has great messages for friendships, family, life lessons and is delivered as high quality entertainment with lots of suspense filled twists and turns, humor, and character development. There's creativity in the idea of a magical cookbook, the girls cooking together, and the magic infiltrating every aspect of their community in one way or another. I like how each girl has her own unique personality portrayed in a nuanced way. We both absolutely love watching this show and it's been a great bonding experience for both of us watching it together during this pandemic.
