I tend to hit my irons, hybrid, and 3-wood pretty consistent, with a straight to slight draw trajectory. I make consistent solid contact with all of those clubs, with no issues beyond what you would expect from a normal amateur golfer.
But I've struggled with several drivers over the past few years. No matter what I do, I roll my right arm and close the clubface with my driver, and ONLY my driver. It's so confusing because I don't make this swing mistake with my other clubs, and I can't figure out why my driver swing feels so much different than any other club in the bag.
With all my other clubs it feels like I'm leading the swing with my left arm, but with my driver, my right arm takes over.
Does anybody have any insight on this? Or drills or something? Is this a common issue? I'm considering switching to the new mini-driver by Taylor Made because maybe I can trick my brain into taking a normal swing since it looks like a 3-wood off the tee.
