Spook up your porch with witch hat pumpkins this Halloween

By admin

Yesterday, I had a fun time decorating a pumpkin like a witch with a hat. It was the perfect activity to get into the Halloween spirit. I started by selecting a large pumpkin with a smooth surface. Then, I gathered materials like acrylic paint, a paintbrush, black felt, construction paper, and a glue gun. To begin the decoration process, I painted the entire pumpkin orange, giving it a vibrant and traditional Halloween look. Once the paint dried, I moved on to creating the witch's face.

Once the paint dried, I moved on to creating the witch's face. Using black acrylic paint, I painted two large, oval-shaped eyes and a long, crooked nose. Next, I cut out a witch's hat shape from black construction paper and attached it to the top of the pumpkin using the glue gun.

Dollar Tree Witches Hat Pumpkins

You may be thinking, another Dollar Tree craft. Well, YES! haha. I am not an avid Halloween decorator, so I like to do things SUPER budget friendly for this specific holiday. (all of them really…but I am not near as frugal with some as I am others!)

I was in our local Dollar Tree recently, and I came across these fun witches hat headbands! I LOVE using headbands for crafts, and I had the perfect little idea for these and my styrofoam pumpkins!

Supplies Needed:
2 styrofoam pumpkins (Dollar Tree)
2 witches hat headbands (Dollar Tree)
2 Pieces of fun fabric (large enough to cover your pumpkin)
hot glue gun (My favorite cordless one is right here on Amazon! *affiliate)
Scissors

I simply got started by cutting a small middle section out of the top of my pumpkin.

Then, you sit your pumpkin in the center of your fabric and start tucking your fabric into the hole, making sure to stay nice and tight!

Once you get your fabric all tucked in, simply take your headband and tear the hat from the band. It is very easy!

Once the hat is removed, hot glue the hat to the center of the pumpkin!

TA-DA! You are done!

How stinkin’ cute. Now, put it in your favorite little Halloween vignette, and you are good to go!

Do you remember that frame in the background? We made that on a Facebook live on Thursday!

And another fun fact, every single thing in this picture is from Dollar Tree!

Pumpkin decorated like a witch with a hat

The hat added a whimsical touch and completed the witch's look. Additionally, I used the glue gun to secure a wide, black felt band around the base of the hat. To make the pumpkin look more like a witch, I added a few final touches. I cut out a small, crescent-shaped piece of yellow construction paper and glued it beneath the witch's nose to create a wicked smile. I also added a few green construction paper warts on the pumpkin's face, giving it a more authentic witch appearance. Once I finished decorating the pumpkin, I proudly displayed it on my doorstep. It looked fantastic with its witch hat and wicked expression. The pumpkin definitely captured the Halloween spirit and added a festive touch to my home. I couldn't help but smile every time I passed by and saw the witch pumpkin. Decorating a pumpkin like a witch was a simple yet enjoyable activity that allowed me to embrace the Halloween season. With just a few materials and some creativity, I transformed an ordinary pumpkin into a delightful and spooky decoration. I can't wait to see how it brings a smile to trick-or-treaters' faces on Halloween night..

Reviews for "Dress up your pumpkin like a witch with a stylish hat"

- Jessica - 2 stars - I was really excited to see this "Pumpkin decorated like a witch with a hat" but was ultimately disappointed. The pumpkin itself looked wilted and sad, and the paint was chipping off. The hat was poorly made and didn't fit properly on the pumpkin. Overall, it just looked sloppy and poorly executed. Definitely not worth the money.
- David - 1 star - I don't understand the hype around this "Pumpkin decorated like a witch with a hat". It was such a letdown. The pumpkin was tiny and rotting, and the paint job was so poorly done. The hat was crooked and looked like it was just glued on randomly. I was really disappointed with the quality and would not recommend it to anyone.
- Sarah - 1 star - I was really looking forward to getting the "Pumpkin decorated like a witch with a hat" for my Halloween decorations, but I was extremely let down. The pumpkin was mushy and rotten, and the paint was peeling off. The hat was cheap and flimsy, and didn't even stay on the pumpkin properly. It looked nothing like the picture. I would not recommend wasting your money on this.
