GUADALAJARA (NTX)._ El ex futbolista David "Magic" Mendoza fue ultimado a balazos cuando salía del estadio 3 de Marzo, a donde acudió para presenciar el partido entre Tecos de la UAG y las Águilas del América.
Aunque aún no hay una versión oficial, algunos testigos mencionaron que Mendoza, de 30 años, pretendía salir de un estacionamiento en la avenida Pablo Neruda, en las inmediaciones del estadio en Zapopan, Jalisco, justo por la caseta de cobro.
Según se dijo, un grupo de personas se acercó y fue cuando uno sacó de entre sus ropas una pistola con la que disparó en varias ocasiones al ex jugador.
El también ex futbolista, Miguel Zepeda, quien acompañaba a Mendoza, tomó el volante de la camioneta Range Rover para llevar al herido al Hospital Pablo Neruda, cercano a la zona, donde falleció.
Los disparos provocaron pánico entre los aficionados que aún se encontraban en las calles aledañas al estadio.
"Magic" Mendoza fue jugador profesional y vistió la camiseta de varios equipo nacionales, entre los que se cuenta Atlas y Guadalajara, además de Cruz Azul y Veracruz.
De acuerdo al diario la Afición de Guadalajara, durante el sepelio, sus amigos estaban inconsolables, su señora y 2 hijas se veían mal en la capilla donde estaban los restos mortales del "Magic".
Sus amigos más cercanos estaban muy mal, la sorpresiva muerte de este hombre de 30 años no los dejaba tranquilos, y no podían asimilar que el hermano, el amigo, ahora no volverá más, que su historia terminó pronto y sin poder despedirse de sus seres queridos.
Así fue el último adiós de este joven quien fuera ejecutado en la avenida Pablo Neruda, esquina con Patria. El Atlas mandó una corona fúnebre, también muchos de sus amigos lo recordaron; en la capilla ardiente estuvo presente Miguel Ángel Zepeda, quien lo acompañaba en el momento de la mala hora.
Gustavo Montoya González, quien es vicepresidente de futbol de los Zorros, habló de este terrible asesinato y comentó que es doloroso que un joven que se formó en Atlas, acabará de esta manera.
"Tuve la suerte de conocerlo desde jovencito, desde que estaba en la Cuarta o Tercera División, y llegó pues a ser una persona muy importante en el primer equipo, y siempre desde chiquillo estuvo en Atlas", comentó en entrevista para la Afición.
El atlista comentó que en estos tiempos violentos, ya nadie escapa de estas cosas y lo peor es que se está haciendo muy común que haya asesinatos en Guadalajara.
Hoy sepultarán a Mendoza, en lo que será su último adiós.
