Upside down magic books are a popular series of children's books written by Sarah Mlynowski, Lauren Myracle, and Emily Jenkins. The series revolves around a group of kids with magical powers that don't quite fit the mold of traditional magic. In the upside down magic world, each person has a specific magical ability. However, for the main characters in the series, their abilities are considered "upside down" because they don't work the way they're supposed to. For example, one character named Nory can turn into a kitten, but she often turns into a "dritten" - a combination of a kitten and a dragon. Each character's magic is unique and doesn't conform to the normal rules of magic.
When Willa's upside-down magic rains, it pours. Clouds form under ceilings. Classrooms get flooded. Umbrellas must always be nearby, just in case Willa has an outburst.
And when she flunks out of her own father s magic academy, Nory s forced to enter public school, where she meets a group of kids whose magic is, well, different. And while Bax does have the unfortunate magical condition of turning into a stone, he swears he has nothing to do with some of the rocky magic that s been causing a string of Dunwiddle disasters.
Each character's magic is unique and doesn't conform to the normal rules of magic. The books follow the main characters as they attend a school for magical abilities called Sage Academy. At the Academy, the students are organized into different "fluxers" based on their abilities.

Upside-Down Magic: Dragon Overnight
