Hey, please don't hate on the genre in general here, or share your rant for why isekai is terrible and bad.
You can be critical of series! That's more than fine! But like you have a ln thread, a fantasy manga thread, a chat thread, a seasonal anime thread, the specific threads for whatever the currently airing isekai anime is, and an official unofficial offsite discord to do that all in. We've all read it and heard it and maybe even said it countless times before.
This is not the thread for slave harem fantasy isekai, sexist revenge fantasy isekai, or rape fantasy isekai. Those can go in the other threads.

This is the good thread for good isekai by people that like isekai. also vrmmo series because vrmmo series are cool. talk about .hack and sao or whatnot. what ive seen of sao was alright and the author is apparently woke now so that's fair game.

I knew there was a manga, but it started as an LN, then manga, then anime. Crunchyroll has the translated manga as well as the anime.

I really liked the gungale online spin-off and recovery of an mmo junkie. gungale in particular was a blast. the differences between the characters' real life selves and their mmo personas was pretty great across the board in a way that was funny and endearing. and the action scenes managed to make the low stakes work in their favor by letting the characters have a kind of breezy approach to things like limb loss. the big finale fight in gun gale is somehow one of the more memorable fight scenes in recent memory for me because of how unexpected and hardcore it is.

I wasn't expecting Sacrifice Princess to count for this thread but thinking about it I guess it would. It's really good, and also licensed so you can buy the official release & support it.

I was reading From Maid to Mother and ended up getting kinda bored with it. It wasn't bad, and I might catch up on it since I see it's gotten some new chapters. Kinda same with Black Healer I liked the setup and characters but eventually got bored with the plot, but they're worth checking out.

A while back I also read the first volume or so of the one where the healer gets really buff and it was funny but after I read that volume the gimmick had kinda worn out and I just wasn't interested enough in the plot to keep going with it. That ends up being my main issue with isekai in general, I like the initial setups (of the ones that aren't rear end) but the plot rarely has enough meat to hold my interest long-term. it helps if there's a hot dad or something to keep my attention though

It eventually gets into the problems of illigetimate bloodlines, negotiations with other countries, etc. Oh, and it's totally monogamous and they're an adorable couple. It's a pretty good fakeout from the initial impression.

Isekai Izakaya "Nobu" - Older "Uncle" type of guy finds door to other world and opens up a Japanese style bar and restaurant. Have not Read.

Kono Yuusha ga Ore TUEEE Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru - In spite of being OP, the hero is very cautious. That's basically the title and the motif. It's very funny.

I can't vouche for ALL of them, but I have read most at least enough to rec them as nice relaxing fare with the unread ones looking very promising and having some degree of recommendability based on cursory view or recs from here.

A lot of Isekais fall into this weird 'It's OK to have a slave in this other universe so best to just do as the romans do' sort of thing. I'm not a fan. I can understand they want to show Japanese people as being compassionate and even in these alternate worlds where slavery is A-OK they treat slaves super well, but then the big twist is almost always "the slave ends up lusting after the master because she's treated so well". So yeah, Skeleton Knight is avoids that and is satisfying as hell when Arc goes on a mass-murder rampage against slavers and rapists.

It's OK, has lots of the usual 'Why is the MC the only person smart enough to figure out some of this poo poo' moments though. It doesn't have a huge amount of chapters yet so it might get dumb or creepy later on.

Edit: Thoughts on Konjiki no Wordmaster. It's got the grumpy kind of misanthropic male lead, but he's actually a decent guy and actually HAS reasons for his loner misanthropic attitude(foster care is rarely ever all sunshine and roses). He's OP as hell, but he has to work for his wins by being really creative. Read a long while ago and have yet to catch up on it.

It's good to know that the skeleton man knows what to do with rapists and slavers but i kind of assumed that anything that is recommended ITT either doesn't have that poo poo or handles it in a non awful way.

Some repeates, but the vast majority of these are sit back and relax types of isekai. And yeah there's some sexual violence and slavery, but Skull Paladin knows what to do with them.

Genjitsushugisha no Oukokukaizouki - Sid Meiers Civ, the manga it sounds like. Have not read.

Isekai Kenkokuki - Reincarnates as abandoned child in forest guarded by Griffin. Starts making a town with other children in similar situation.

Isekai de Cafe - OL dies and opens up a cafe. Have not Read.

Wanwan Monogatari - Guy dies from overwork and wants to reincarnate as pampered rich persons dog. Reincarnates as rich family dog with cute owner. Except he's basically Ranga.

Isekai Izakaya "Nobu" - Older "Uncle" type of guy finds door to other world and opens up a Japanese style bar and restaurant. Have not Read.

Isekai Yakkyoku - Eldest brother who was a pharmacist dies and reincarnates into rich family. Uses his previous knowledge to help people in new world.

Knights and Magic - Mechs and Magic. Have not Read.

World Teacher - Isekaishiki Kyouiku Agent - Spec Ops guy dies. Reincarnates as heir to rich family. Parents gone and is raised by maids and takes in beastkin as foster brother and sister whom he tutors in magic when they go to the academy.

Kono Yuusha ga Ore TUEEE Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru - In spite of being OP, the hero is very cautious. That's basically the title and the motif. It's very funny.

I can't vouche for ALL of them, but I have read most at least enough to rec them as nice relaxing fare with the unread ones looking very promising and having some degree of recommendability based on cursory view or recs from here.

A lot of Isekais fall into this weird 'It's OK to have a slave in this other universe so best to just do as the romans do' sort of thing. I'm not a fan. I can understand they want to show Japanese people as being compassionate and even in these alternate worlds where slavery is A-OK they treat slaves super well, but then the big twist is almost always "the slave ends up lusting after the master because she's treated so well". So yeah, Skeleton Knight is avoids that and is satisfying as hell when Arc goes on a mass-murder rampage against slavers and rapists.

It's OK, has lots of the usual 'Why is the MC the only person smart enough to figure out some of this poo poo' moments though. It doesn't have a huge amount of chapters yet so it might get dumb or creepy later on.

Edit: Thoughts on Konjiki no Wordmaster. It's got the grumpy kind of misanthropic male lead, but he's actually a decent guy and actually HAS reasons for his loner misanthropic attitude(foster care is rarely ever all sunshine and roses). He's OP as hell, but he has to work for his wins by being really creative. Read a long while ago and have yet to catch up on it.
