Honoring the Spirit of Harvest on the Autumn Equinox in Witchcraft

By admin

The autumn equinox, also known as Mabon, is a significant time of the year in witchcraft and pagan traditions. It is a time when the day and night are of equal length, symbolizing the balance between light and dark. This balance is often celebrated and honored through various rituals and practices. During this time, witches and pagans may gather to perform specific rituals to honor the changing seasons and give gratitude for the abundance of the harvest. These rituals may involve the use of candles, herbs, crystals, and other tools to create a sacred and spiritual space. One common ritual during the autumn equinox is the making of an altar or shrine dedicated to the harvest and abundance.

One common ritual during the autumn equinox is the making of an altar or shrine dedicated to the harvest and abundance. This altar may include fruits, vegetables, and grains, symbolizing the bountiful harvest and the importance of gratitude. Witches may also use this time to reflect on their own personal harvests, both in terms of physical and spiritual abundance.

Barclay Crenshaw Treats Detroit Over Halloweekend

Primarily known as an icon of tech house, Claude VonStroke occasionally descends on the bass music community under his Barclay Crenshaw alias. Crenshaw’s self-titled 2017 LP is one of experimental bass music’s essential works, and his DJ sets are must-sees for bass music fans lucky enough to catch him at a show or festival.

His Detroit set is one of four sets planned for 2022. VonStroke selected Detroit for a two-day run of shows over the Halloween weekend: Night 1 was an open-to-close VonStroke set and Night 2 was headlined by Crenshaw. Moon Lvnding was on-site for Night 2 with Barclay Crenshaw, who reminded Detroiters why he’s the don no matter the genre he spins.

Crenshaw set the tone for his set by opening with a “Gas Pedal” flip from Michigan-native Super Future. Hip-hop and bass music blended seamlessly throughout the entire set as Crenshaw rinsed subgenres like drum & bass, glitch hop, hybrid trap, and UK dubstep. Crenshaw played tracks from Monty, Visages, Yookie, Lavier, Subtle, and the craziest remix of “Micro” by Kursa I’d ever heard.

Crenshaw’s set perfectly fit the Halloween-party theme as decorations adorned the club’s walls and fixtures. Magic Stick is already a fantastic venue with quality sound and lighting display that extends over the crowd. Crenshaw’s visuals are carefully curated and add to the mysticism that surrounds the project.

We’re hoping Crenshaw has more plans for 2023 and beyond. His set at Wakaan Music Festival this year was the talk of the festival and was raved about online in the following weeks. Bass music fans who miss a Crenshaw set are doing themselves a disservice.

Another practice often associated with the autumn equinox is divination and prophecy. Witches may use various divination tools such as tarot cards, pendulums, or scrying mirrors to gain insight into the coming months and to connect with their intuition. This can be a powerful time to set intentions and seek guidance for the future. In addition to these rituals, witches and pagans may also engage in spellwork during the autumn equinox. Spells focused on balance, abundance, and protection are common during this time. For example, spells may be performed to bring harmony and balance to relationships, promote financial abundance, or protect against negative energies as the days grow darker. Overall, the autumn equinox holds a special place in witchcraft and pagan traditions. It is a time of balance, reflection, and gratitude as the energy of the Earth begins to shift. Through rituals, divination, and spellwork, witches and pagans can harness the power of this season and align themselves with the natural cycles of the Earth..

Reviews for "Connecting with Ancestors through Autumn Equinox Witchcraft"

1. Emily - ★☆☆☆☆
I was really excited to read "Autumn Equinox Witchcraft" as I am a fan of the witchcraft genre. However, I was extremely disappointed with this book. The writing was shallow and lacking in depth, and the characters were one-dimensional. I couldn't connect with any of them, and the plot was predictable and unengaging. Overall, I found the book to be a complete letdown and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a captivating witchcraft read.
2. Matthew - ★★☆☆☆
"Autumn Equinox Witchcraft" had so much potential, but it completely fell short for me. The pacing was all over the place, with long stretches of nothing happening followed by rushed plot developments. The world-building was weak, leaving me with more questions than answers. Additionally, the dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it difficult to immerse myself in the story. I really wanted to like this book, but unfortunately, it just didn't deliver what I was looking for in a witchcraft novel.
3. Jessica - ★★☆☆☆
As someone who enjoys reading about witchcraft and the occult, I was excited to dive into "Autumn Equinox Witchcraft." However, I found the book to be lacking in substance. The characters felt underdeveloped, with their actions and motivations often inconsistent. The writing style was also unremarkable, failing to evoke any sense of magic or mystery. While the premise had potential, the execution fell flat and left me feeling unsatisfied. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a more engaging and authentic witchcraft read.
