Just Add Magic age rating and its impact on viewership

By admin

The TV show "Just Add Magic" is a fantasy series created by Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco. It tells the story of three young girls, Kelly, Darbie, and Hannah, who discover a magical cookbook in the attic. This cookbook has the power to grant their wishes and make magical recipes come to life. The show is intended for a younger audience and is rated TV-G, which means it is suitable for all ages. The age rating is appropriate as the show does not contain any content that would be unsuitable for children. It is a light-hearted and fun series that focuses on the adventures of the three girls and their magical cooking exploits.

I think it's a shame they only did 3 seasons because I can see the potential. I think the chemistry between the actors really helped to make the show as good as it was.

The fact that the movie It has an impressive cast of young actors might also appeal to families who are looking for characters their kids will relate to characters who will keep their kids attention and help them stay quiet in the movie theater. And in most cases the presumed identity of the villain keeps bouncing about from one character to another, so their true identity isn t revealed until late in the season.

It teaches important lessons about the consequences of using magic irresponsibly and the importance of using it for good.

Just Add Magic

This show has everything - suspense, drama, comedy, moral lessons, and the comradery of true friendship. It's a welcome change from bratty teens and pre-teens. These girls want to do the right thing and love their parents. They're there for each other and never display the kind of meanness so many movies have. There are mean girls in the series, but they're on the outskirts and clearly marked. I loved this show as much as the 10 year-old I watched it with. Her 7 year-old sister and 13 year-old brother enjoyed it too.

Well written; soft peddling divination

My tween daughters were quickly drawn into this show. Unfortunately it appears the writers were trying to get their young audience into magic. As Christian we must not accept the good with the bad. Make a great show not around obsession with gaining power over other through a power not from God.

The kind of show I was looking for.

It was a great show to watch with my daughters (ages 8 and 10), we enjoyed it so much together. Since they mostly watch YouTube, I really loved a series with screenwriting, acting, etc. not with girls competing with each other or being sarcastic or witty all the time. Nice friendship. We also enjoyed the older ladies and their humor.

Watch out at the end of Season 2

The Season 2 finally scared my 7 year old twins. Gave them both nightmares. And they love the scene in Indiana Jones where the faces melt off. I didn't watch it with them, my wife did, but after that we set a new rule. Just Add Magic is for the morning only. They still love it though.

Great stories with a touch of magic

This is such a great show for kids and their caregivers! My son is 7 and has watched the show all the way through at least twice, and is now on his third run through. The main girls act their age (11-13 throughout the series) and deal with issues that kids that age deal with like bullying, deciding who to spend time with, going out for school sports, getting along with their families, etc. The cooking and magic add to the sweet storylines that are ultimately about friendship, honestly, patience, and other good morals. As a parent who's watched it multiple times, I'm still not bored!

The characters feel real and are given a depth that is rare in children's shows. They make mistakes and disappoint each other, but they own up to it and take responsibility for their actions.

Reviews for "Is Just Add Magic suitable for older teens or strictly for younger children?"

- Sarah - 2 stars - I didn't enjoy watching "Just Add Magic" because I found the age rating to be misleading. The show is rated for ages 7 and up, but I feel like it's more appropriate for younger kids. The storylines and dialogues were too simple and predictable for my taste, and I found myself getting bored quickly. Overall, I think this show would be better suited for a younger demographic.
- John - 1 star - I was very disappointed with the age rating of "Just Add Magic". As an adult, I was looking for a show that I could enjoy with my family, but this show did not live up to my expectations. The plot was weak and the acting was subpar. Additionally, the humor was geared towards a younger audience, which made it difficult for me to find any enjoyment in the show. I would not recommend it to anyone above the age of 10.
- Lisa - 2 stars - I was excited to watch "Just Add Magic" with my pre-teen daughter, but we both ended up being disappointed. The age rating suggested that it would be suitable for her age group, but we found the show to be too childish and simplistic. The characters lacked depth and the storylines were repetitive. Overall, we were expecting more substance from the show and were left unsatisfied.
