From Cauldrons to Crystals: The Incredible Tools of the Magical Family Laboratory

By admin

A magical family laboratory is a place where imagination and creativity come to life. It is a hub of exploration and innovation, where family members can come together to conduct magical experiments and create extraordinary inventions. In this enchanting laboratory, families can combine their individual talents and skills to collaborate on projects that blend science, technology, and magic. It is a space where parents and children can bond over their shared love for discovery and develop a deeper understanding of each other's strengths and passions. The magical family laboratory is not limited by conventional boundaries. It is a place where anything is possible, whether it be mixing potions, casting spells, or creating fantastical gadgets.

Our main goal is for you and your family to have a fun experience together at the Rubin Museum of Art. Other goals include learning about something new – whether it’s Himalayan puppetry, gold-leafing, mask-making or sand mandalas! top

Your Museum Educator will guide your art-making with techniques and a brief demonstration of the project and will then let you explore a variety of art materials for making the project on your own. In this workshop, we explored the uses of Himalayan masks, searched the galleries for masks and animals who inspire many Tibetan masks , and created our own masks in the art studio.
