Unleash Your Inner Shaman with Magical Slot Games

By admin

In shamanic traditions, magic is often viewed as a powerful tool for spiritual transformation and healing. Shamans are believed to have the ability to enter altered states of consciousness and communicate with the spirit world in order to harness this magic and bring about positive change. One concept within shamanic magic is the idea of "magic slots." These slots are seen as specific points or slots in a person's energetic field where magic can be accessed and utilized. These slots are believed to exist within the body and are connected to different aspects of a person's being, such as their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energies. The idea behind magic slots is that by working with these specific points, a shaman can tap into different types of energy and channel it for various purposes.

As avr says, Wandering Spirit -> choose Waves, Wandering Hex -> select Fluid Magic lets you at least prepare the spells in the slots. It's not exactly what you're asking for, though.

Right now it is sometimes hard to justify preparing more situational spells because Shamans don t have the option to spontaneously cast Cure spells like a Cleric or Summon Nature s Ally like a Druid. For something like the opposite effect the Fluid Magic hex, from the waves spirit whether wandering or your primary , allows you to prepare spirit magic spells in your regular slots.

The idea behind magic slots is that by working with these specific points, a shaman can tap into different types of energy and channel it for various purposes. For example, a shaman might focus on a magic slot connected to physical energy in order to heal a physical ailment or injury. Alternatively, they may focus on a slot associated with emotional energy to bring about emotional healing or balance.

Shaman: how to get more "spontaneous" spell slots

I can't find other thread on the matter. So, there's any way for a shaman to have something like cleric spontaneous conversion for the spirit spells, instead of just one slot? It would be really helpful for my pc (I don't go in melee, I rely more on my spellcasting. A control/buff type, you know). Only PF material, no 3pp.
thanks in advance :)

Preferred Spell lets you cast one spell spontaneously from any slot that's high enough level.

For something like the opposite effect the Fluid Magic hex, from the waves spirit (whether wandering or your primary), allows you to prepare spirit magic spells in your regular slots. Add the Magical Epiphany feat to prepare a spell in an empty slot as a standard action 1/day.

No, neither of these sounds exactly like what you want, but they might get close.

As avr says, Wandering Spirit -> choose Waves, Wandering Hex -> select Fluid Magic lets you at least prepare the spells in the slots. It's not exactly what you're asking for, though.

The Nature spirit also has Friend of the Animals hex, which lets you spontaneously cast Summon Nature's Ally as a druid.

The Namekeeper Shaman archetype in Adventurer's Guide (not yet PFS legal if it matters) lets the Shaman commune with a caster spirit that gives an extra bonus spirit slot at the highest level the Shaman can cast. It also gives an arcane bond Wayfinder, so another bonus spontaneous spell each day.

Not exactly what you are looking for, by I thought it worth mentioning that my Shaman is about to take the Planned Spontaneity feat. It will allow him to split several regular spell slots between two spell options, which I'm hoping will further expand his versatility.

Right now it is sometimes hard to justify preparing more situational spells because Shamans don't have the option to spontaneously cast Cure spells like a Cleric or Summon Nature's Ally like a Druid. This feat should make that more of an option. Basically I will prepare something more situational like Ice Body in the same 'split slot' as something more reliable like Heal. That way I can use Ice Body if it seems like a good call, but know that Heal is also there if I need it.

Runestones of Power are items to give you extra spontaneous spell slots. Effectively pearls of power, but you need them in hand when you cast a spell rather than using a standard action after the fact. They are expensive though.

Shamanic magic slots

These magic slots are often seen as interconnected and interdependent. They can be thought of as a network of energetic pathways that run through a person's body, connecting different aspects of their being. By working with these slots, a shaman can help restore balance and harmony within a person's energetic system. It is important to note that the concept of magic slots is not limited to physical healing. Shamans can also use these slots to tap into higher wisdom and guidance, connect with ancestral spirits, or even influence events in the physical world. The possibilities are vast and can vary depending on the shaman and their specific training and abilities. In order to work with magic slots, a shaman will typically enter an altered state of consciousness through practices such as drumming, chanting, or dancing. This altered state allows them to access the spirit world and connect with the energies they seek. From there, they can focus their intention and energy on the specific magic slot they wish to work with. Ultimately, the concept of magic slots in shamanic magic represents a belief in the interconnectedness of all things and the ability to tap into and manipulate energy for healing and transformation. By working with these slots, shamans can bring about positive change and help individuals align with their true potential and purpose..
