Immerse Yourself: Surf Curse Live in Concert

By admin

Surf Curse is an American indie rock duo formed in Reno, Nevada in 2013. The band was created by Jacob Rubeck and Nicholas Rattigan, who are childhood friends. They initially started writing and recording music together in their early teenage years. Surf Curse's sound can be described as surf rock infused with elements of indie and punk. Their music often features catchy guitar riffs, reverb-soaked vocals, and introspective lyrics that touch on themes of love, youth, and coming of age. The duo gained popularity through the internet, mainly on platforms like Bandcamp and YouTube.

It was super awesome, I’ve never been to a concert with so many people my age so it was a great atmosphere. The music was amazing as well, Surf Curse is as great live as they are recorded. Would definitely see them again if they tour again! Read more Report as inappropriate

Even if they don t quite understand TikTok, or use it much themselves, Rattigan and Rubeck are hopeful about whatever it means for the band s future. As many young fans came forward with allegations against bands in that scene, an anonymous social media account posted sexual misconduct claims against both members of Surf Curse.

I love every track on this album but this one is comfortable to me, for better or worse. It captures a feeling I think unfortunately most of us have felt. Surf Curse's whole sound reminds me of loss and no more so then here. logansaxby go to album

supported by 7 fans who also own “Surf Curse - Audiotree Live” This record feels like a natural development from their first release, but at the same time a big leap forward. I think the songwriting's better -- definitely more melodic -- and the sound is way lusher, sweeter, and clearer. (Always helps to have Jarvis Taveniere on board.) There's a greater variety of textures, too, including lovely strings on Trust and a more dissonant, mysterious vibe on Hour of the Wolf. Besides those two, Disco and River's Edge are my other favorites. Joe Madden go to album

“The biggest challenge is building a story outside of TikTok,” Schulz said. “A lot of records that work on TikTok never escape the platform. Fortunately, ‘Freaks’ was a sticky record in the L.A. indie rock scene and the band had a dedicated following long before the TikTok moment, so we had a foundation to work from.”

Reviews for "Surf Curse Live: Setting the Bar High for Live Performances"

1. Julie - 2 stars
I was really disappointed with the Surf Curse live performance. The lead singer's vocals were incredibly off-key throughout the entire show, making it almost unbearable to listen to. The band's energy on stage was lackluster as well, with very minimal interaction with the crowd. It felt like they were just going through the motions, without any real passion for their music. Overall, it was a letdown and I wouldn't recommend seeing them live.
2. Mike - 1 star
Surf Curse live was a complete disaster. The sound quality was so bad that it was impossible to make out any of the lyrics or instrumentals. It felt like I was listening to a group of amateurs playing in their garage, rather than a professional band on stage. Additionally, the lack of stage presence was incredibly underwhelming. The band members seemed disconnected from the audience and didn't make any effort to engage with us. Save your money and skip this live performance.
3. Sarah - 2 stars
I had high hopes for Surf Curse live, but they fell short of my expectations. The band's performance felt very monotonous, with no variation in their setlist or energy. It seemed like they were going through the motions, without putting any real effort into their live performance. The lack of interaction with the crowd was also disappointing, as it made the whole experience feel detached and impersonal. In the end, I left feeling underwhelmed and unimpressed by their live show.
