The Amityville Curse and the Power of Fear: Psychological Effects on Victims

By admin

The Amityville Curse refers to a series of supernatural events and hauntings that allegedly took place in a house located in Amityville, New York. The house gained notoriety after the murders of the DeFeo family in 1974, when Ronald DeFeo Jr. fatally shot his parents and four siblings in their sleep. In 1977, the Lutz family moved into the same house, unaware of its dark history. They claimed that they experienced a wide range of supernatural phenomena during their short stay. These included strange voices, cold spots, mysterious odors, and disturbing nightmares.

I'm gonna be the first 5 star review here because I didn't hate it. I mean, there's tons not good here. Like at all. It's most egregious mistake is being boring. And that's not to mention the awful characters especially the asshole psychologist. BUT, one of the faster ways to my heart 😉😉 is by coming at me with an "Amityville and chill?" But only the first 3 Amityville movies and the ones from the 90s and the one with phenomenally ripped Ryan Reynolds.
So, needless to say, I see all you bad reviews, I see you, but I liked it anyways. Weird little shitty gore effects towards the end. And it was also remastered on Prime, makes me think it's about to drop from Vinegar Syndrome soon, to go with that amazing box set they released awhile back. Anyways, I'm a chatterbox at the moment. Amityville and chill.

On top of that, the casting is superb - Margot Kidder, James Brolin, and Murray Hamilton who you probably recognize as the Mayor of a different kind of Amity in JAWS. This label is focused on the country s original cinematic boom years spanning the 60s, 70s, and 80s occasionally venturing past that period and the country s borders to highlight the films of Canada s most inspired actors and filmmakers.

These included strange voices, cold spots, mysterious odors, and disturbing nightmares. George Lutz, the father, allegedly began acting irrationally and even claimed to have seen glowing red eyes staring at him. The Lutz family was said to have been terrorized by these experiences and ultimately fled the house after just 28 days.

The Amityville Curse

Five people spend the night in an abandoned house, the Amityville haunted house, and soon find themselves terrorized by assorted ghosts, venomous insects and ghostly apparitions.

The amityville curss

The events at the Amityville house were depicted in the 1977 book "The Amityville Horror" by Jay Anson, which claimed to be a true account of the Lutz family's experiences. The book was later adapted into a successful film series, further perpetuating the legend of the Amityville Curse. Despite the popular belief in the Amityville Curse, skepticism and controversy surround the events. Critics argue that the Lutz family fabricated their story for financial gain, while others question the credibility of the original reportings. A subsequent investigation by parapsychologist Dr. Hans Holzer found little evidence to support the claims of the Lutz family. To this day, the Amityville Curse remains a subject of debate and fascination for those interested in the paranormal. Whether the events were genuinely supernatural or simply a hoax, the Amityville house continues to capture the imagination of many and remains an enduring part of popular culture..

The characters were not well-developed, and the acting was unconvincing. The scares were predictable, and the film relied too heavily on jump scares rather than building genuine tension.
