In 1929, the year the original The Talisman Italian Cook Book known as Il Talismano della Felicità in Italian was published, it was considered the book for the modern woman, the book to give to all brides for their wedding. Many recipe titles are named with French techniques au gratin or fricassee as French cuisine reigned and the vocabulary was more familiar in the kitchen than their Italian counterparts were.

Reviews for "The Talisnan Italian Cookbook: Traditional Family Recipes Passed Down through Generations"

1. Mary Johnson - 2 out of 5 stars: I was really disappointed with "The Talisnan Italian Cookbook". Firstly, there were way too many fancy and hard-to-find ingredients that I had to go out of my way to source. Secondly, the measurements were all over the place, making it difficult to follow the recipes accurately. Lastly, the end results were underwhelming, lacking in flavor and authenticity. Overall, this cookbook seemed more like a collection of complicated and poorly executed recipes rather than a reliable guide to Italian cooking.
2. David Smith - 1 out of 5 stars: I regret purchasing "The Talisnan Italian Cookbook". The recipes were convoluted and overly complicated, requiring numerous steps and hours of preparation. Moreover, the author's writing style was excessively flowery, making the instructions confusing and hard to understand. I attempted a few recipes, and the outcomes were far from appetizing. The flavors were bland, and the dishes did not resemble anything close to traditional Italian cuisine. I do not recommend this cookbook to anyone looking for authentic and easily reproducible Italian recipes.
3. Sarah Thompson - 2 out of 5 stars: I was excited to expand my culinary skills with "The Talisnan Italian Cookbook", but it turned out to be a huge letdown. Not only did the layout and organization of the book appear chaotic, but the recipes themselves were impractical and mismatched. It felt like the author was trying to showcase their creativity rather than provide practical and delicious Italian dishes. Additionally, the lack of pictures made it impossible to envision the final product. I ended up frustrated and disappointed with this cookbook, and I will be seeking a more reliable and user-friendly Italian cookbook in the future.
4. Robert Davis - 1 out of 5 stars: "The Talisnan Italian Cookbook" was a complete waste of my money. The recipes were unnecessarily complex, requiring multiple specialty ingredients that are difficult to find and expensive. The instructions were unclear and poorly organized, making it hard to follow along. Even after taking all the necessary steps, the end results were lackluster and unappetizing. I have tried many Italian cookbooks before, but this one was by far the most disappointing. Save your money and avoid this one at all costs.
