The Witch 2020 is a highly anticipated horror film that was originally scheduled for release in 2019 but was pushed back to 2020. The film is the second installment in The Witch film series and serves as a prequel to the first film. It is directed by Robert Eggers and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, and Kate Dickie. The story of The Witch 2020 follows a young woman named Thomasin, who finds herself accused of witchcraft in the early 17th century. Set in New England, the film explores themes of paranoia, religious fanaticism, and the supernatural. Thomasin must navigate the hysteria and terror of her Puritan family as they believe that she has made a pact with the devil.

Not long after this revelation, the Boy comes face to face with not only one witch, but an entire huge coven of witches who’ve all assembled — where else? — at a large hotel convention. And it’s, ironically, held at the very same hotel to which he and his grandmother have traveled to try and escape the witch! Because his grandmother has taught him how to recognize a witch, he immediately realizes what he’s stumbled upon. The results are calamitous (and genuinely creepy) for the Boy.

Shortly thereafter, he encounters a witch at the local drug store, and his grandmother, something of a spiritualist herself, initiates him into a world in which child-hating murderous witches are everywhere. Pros Stayed more true to the book especially the ending, Anne s performance was amazing and I could tell she had fun with this role, I liked Daisy Mary s story, the costumes were great especially the Grand High Witch s, loved the final battle feel between the grandma and the GHW, the beginning was really well done and emotional, loved the scene of the witches meeting especially the GHW s dialogue and the witches chasing after Luke, Mary and Bruno, even though she didn t have an unmasked form, I still liked what they did with the GHW s true look and still found it quite terrifying, loved Octavia s performance even though I felt that she was too young for the role.

The new adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Witches is incredibly strange and almost offensively bad

The Witches is a weird, unfunny lesson in how not to adapt Roald Dahl’s classic — and problematic — horror tale.

I was really excited to watch "The Wotch 2020" because I had heard so much about it. However, I was extremely disappointed with the movie. The plot was confusing and all over the place. It felt like the film was trying too hard to be edgy and unique, but it just came across as messy and convoluted. The acting was also subpar, with several performances feeling forced and unnatural. Overall, "The Wotch 2020" failed to live up to the hype and left me feeling unsatisfied.
2. Michael - 1 star
"The Wotch 2020" was a complete waste of time. The storyline was uninteresting and seemed to drag on forever. The characters were poorly developed and lacked depth, making it difficult to care about their fates. The special effects were mediocre at best and did not enhance the viewing experience. I also found the dialogue to be cliché and uninspiring. I regret watching this film and would not recommend it to others.

I wanted to like "The Wotch 2020," but it ended up being a forgettable movie. The plot was predictable, and I was able to guess the twists within the first half-hour. The characters were one-dimensional and lacked any substantial development. The pacing was off, with slow and uneventful moments followed by rushed and confusing scenes. I was left feeling underwhelmed and wished I had chosen a different film to watch.
