"If you want to help, help us find our friend, she was taken by a Yeti."
This is just one example of the sort of amusing dialogue throughout this movie. From the first scene onwards this movie is laughably bad, an American football team's plane crash lands in the Himalayas where the start getting picked off by one of the most ridiculous looking movie monsters ever. This Yeti is like the bastard offspring of Chewbacca and Vigo from Ghostbusters 2 after a bad blue rinse job, for most of the film its a slow, lumbering almost Frankenstein like monster until around the half way point where it starts to leap around like some sort of giant grasshopper. At one point…

I’m a graphic designer by trade so I always judge films based on their opening title designs. Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon, aka Yeti, starts with a black screen and a white “Yeti” written in a generic script font. The credits are the same font in white, but with the default drop shadow effect. This tells me that the producers knew the film was so great that they didn’t have to waste either time or money on talent. Yeti is the 14th film in the critically acclaimed* ScyFi’s Maneater collection, which includes classics like Rise of the Gargoyles, Sand Serpents and Malibu Shark Attack. It features two actors I remember from 90s TV, Ed Marinaro who was one of…

3/10 Outside a handful of laughable moments, okay gore and practical effects, and decent pacing, this Sci-Fi Channel original movie from 2008 was pretty terrible overall.
With terrible acting and dialogue, a plot that makes about as much sense as eating a rotten banana, horrible writing, CGI straight out of a bad PS2/Xbox game along with some shoddy green screen, unremarkable cinematography, and the Yeti creature looks like they’ve used the costume from the Jim Carrey Grinch movie and just sprayed paint it white. I really don’t recommend this movie whatsoever. It’s pretty much a crappy rip-off of the 1993 survival thriller Alive but with a Grinch-looking Yeti in it. Watched on YouTube.

SyFy does it again. As dumb as this movie is, I remember watching it when I was younger, and I remember really liking it. It’s not bad, but it’s not great, or very good, really.

Horroctober 2023#35 This low budget horror film shot in Vancouver about a couple of guys who supposedly crashed their plane in the Himalayas and then encounter a yeti has at least some nice ice and snow images. The setting with the crashed football team is reminiscent of SUPERVIVIENTES DE LOS ANDES (1976) or the remake ALIVE (1993) about a real plane crash involving a rugby team in the Andes. The question arises as to what they can eat. One suggests eating the bodies from the plane. You'll have to see for yourself whether they do that. Then there are other elements, like the Yeti monster, which is definitely interested in human flesh. This is perfectly fine for a presumably low-budget flick. There are certainly worse Yeti films. boxd.it/3Maow

Yeti: Curse of The Snow Demon is a 2008 action horror movie directed by Paul Ziller which follows a plane flight carrying a college football team that crashes in the Himalayas. Surviving the crash was only part of their problem. Trying not to become a meal for the monster lurking in the mountains will be their greater challenge. With a whopping 3.3/10 on IMDb, I went into this with low expectations, expectations had the film managed to adhere to. Featuring shoddy acting and a lack of actual tension or fear, this film works more for hilarity than anything else. The titular Yeti looks decent…

American football dudes and dudettes survive an airplane crash in the Himalayas only to encounter a freakin' yeti. These people are totally clueless and are complete crap at telling whether people are actually dead. And crap at like making fires, making decisions, first aid ( "I'm a trainer -I only do bruises and sprains" - excuse given for not even attempting to administer the basics of first aid). The yeti itself seemed to be suffering from mange. But all hope not lost as the said yeti developed super-jumping powers half-way through and was able leap over any stupid bits with ease.

Yeti curse of the snow demon cast

Joining Dr. Davis on the expedition is his former lover Sarah, played by actress Carly Pope. Sarah adds an emotional dynamic to the story as her relationship with Dr. Davis is tested in the face of danger. Pope brings a strong presence to the character and creates a compelling performance. Another notable member of the cast is actor Peter DeLuise, who plays the role of Kelly. Kelly is a member of the expedition and provides comic relief throughout the film. DeLuise's comedic timing and charismatic portrayal of Kelly add light-hearted moments to the otherwise intense story. Rounding out the cast is actor Ona Grauer, who portrays Elena, a local guide who joins the expedition. Grauer brings a sense of mystery and strength to the character, and her performance adds depth to the overall story. The cast of "Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon" delivers strong performances that carry the suspenseful narrative. Each actor brings their unique talents to the project, creating a dynamic and engaging film. From Menard's determined portrayal of Dr. Davis to DeLuise's comedic relief as Kelly, the cast successfully brings the story of the Yeti to life..

Reviews for "Exploring the cultural significance of Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon's cast"

1. Emily - 1 star - "I was really excited to watch 'Yeti Curse of the Snow Demon' as I love horror movies, but I was extremely disappointed. The acting was horrendous, with wooden performances and lackluster dialogue. The special effects were also laughable, particularly the scenes involving the Yeti itself. It was obvious that the creature was nothing more than a guy in a poorly made costume. The storyline was predictable and clichéd, offering no surprises or originality. Overall, 'Yeti Curse of the Snow Demon' felt like a low-budget, amateur production that missed the mark in every aspect."
2. Robert - 2 stars - "I expected 'Yeti Curse of the Snow Demon' to be an entertaining horror film, but it fell short of my expectations. The pacing was slow and dragged on unnecessarily, making the movie feel longer than it actually was. The characters were poorly constructed and lacked depth, making it difficult to care about their well-being or the outcome of the story. Additionally, the dialogue was cringeworthy and failed to engage the viewer. While the scenery and cinematography were decent, they could not salvage the overall disappointment that this film turned out to be."
3. Melissa - 1.5 stars - "I regret wasting my time watching 'Yeti Curse of the Snow Demon.' The plot was beyond predictable, following all the tired tropes of a typical monster flick. The performances were lackluster, with the actors seemingly going through the motions without any genuine emotions. The dialogue was cheesy and unrealistic, leaving me cringing throughout the movie. The special effects were poorly executed, especially during the action scenes, making them look comical rather than terrifying. Overall, this film was a major letdown, and I would not recommend it to anyone searching for a quality horror movie."
