When we made our reservation online, we were asked to select our entree choice. Options for us included prime rib (which both Heather and I selected), Coq au Vin, Gourmet Mac and Cheese, or a Vegetarian option. You could also select add-ons such as a shrimp cocktail.

Then, when it was time for dessert, they did a short version of Le Petit Chef that we d previously experienced on Celebrity Millenium before bringing an absolutely fabulous cheesecake topped with cherries. It s been a while since I ve been to a true magic show and frankly, I wasn t expecting much more than a relatively affordable New Year s Eve date night outing.

The Prestige Brings Magic & Multi-Course Meals To Downtown San Diego

February 16, 2022

The Prestige has opened in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, pairing decadent multi-course meals with an after-dinner magic show.

Terry Commons started his magic show in 1990 as a haunted mansion magic performance meant to take place solely during the Halloween season, but due to the success of the project, he launched the first Mystique Dining experience in Pocatello, Idaho, in 1997. Commons, who is trained as a magician, eventually launched outposts in Boise, Salt Lake City, and Folsom, CA. Last year, Commons opened a branch of Mystique Dining in the former Masala Street space at 915 Pearl Street in the heart of La Jolla Village. Mystique Dining's downtown San Diego location is under the more casual sister concept brand dubbed The Prestige Magic Lounge & Showroom, which is opened this past weekend in the space that last housed Illusions Theatre and Bar in the Gaslamp Quarter.

At Prestige, expect a Victorian-style decor where guests will enjoy a three-course dinner served via maid and butler before participating in an evening of magic by a world-class magician. Patrons will choose a main dish with selections like prime rib, Cornish game hen, vegetarian lasagna, and macaroni and cheese, then they will witness a 45-minute magic show by a Master of Magic following dessert. The experience lasts approximately 2.5 hours in total.

Admission prices for a The Prestige range from $100-$150, depending on proximity to the performer, and there are many menu and dietary upgrades available for an additional charge. Reservation costs do not include upgrades, gratuity, applicable sales tax or service charges. Water and sodas are included with admission, but Martinelli's Sparkling Ciders, hot drinks, beer and wine are an additional charge.

The Prestige Magic Lounge and Showroom is now open at 827 4th Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. For more information and to make reservations, visit mystiquedining.com/sandiego-home.

Reviews for "The Amulet Universe Unveiled: A Chronological Guide to the Book Series"

1. Sarah - 2 stars - I was very disappointed with the Amulet book series chronological list. While I enjoy fantasy books, I found this series to be lacking a cohesive plot and well-developed characters. The storyline felt rushed and disjointed, with random events happening without much explanation or purpose. Additionally, the dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it difficult for me to connect with the characters. Overall, I found the series to be underwhelming and not worth my time.
2. John - 1 star - I can't express how much I disliked the Amulet book series chronological list. The story was confusing and filled with clichéd fantasy tropes. The characters lacked depth and I couldn't bring myself to care about their struggles or outcomes. The artwork was the only redeeming quality of this series, but even that couldn't save it from being a tedious and unenjoyable read. I wouldn't recommend this series to anyone looking for a well-crafted and engaging fantasy adventure.
3. Emily - 2 stars - As a fan of fantasy graphic novels, I was excited to dive into the Amulet book series chronological list. However, I was quickly disappointed. The storyline was convoluted and poorly explained, leaving me feeling lost and uninterested. The art style was decent, but the lack of character development and the shallow dialogue prevented me from fully immersing myself in the story. Overall, I found this series to be underwhelming and lacking the depth and coherence that I look for in fantasy novels.
4. Michael - 1 star - I regret picking up the Amulet book series chronological list. The plot was predictable and lacked originality, with many elements feeling borrowed from other fantasy works. The characters were one-dimensional and their actions often didn't make sense within the world that was established. The pacing was off, with major events being rushed through while mundane scenes were given too much focus. Overall, this series was a disappointment and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a captivating fantasy read.
5. Jessica - 2 stars - The Amulet book series chronological list fell flat for me. The story felt disjointed and it was difficult to understand the motivations of the characters. The dialogue was clunky and at times cringeworthy. While the illustrations were well-done, they couldn't make up for the lackluster storytelling. I struggled to get through this series and ultimately felt unsatisfied with the overall experience.
