Army of Darkness is a fantasy horror film that was released in 1992. It is the third film in the Evil Dead franchise and stars Bruce Campbell as the main character, Ash Williams. The film follows Ash as he is transported back in time to the Middle Ages where he must battle an army of the undead, also known as the Army of Darkness. The story begins with Ash being transported back in time after mistakenly reciting an incantation from the Necronomicon, a book of the dead. He finds himself in the year 1300 AD and is captured by Lord Arthur and his men, who mistake him for a spy from a neighboring kingdom.
