I work in AK for the Federal government. Black Magics are what we are issued for our 870s for bear protection for field work. I have great faith in them.

I no longer live around grizzly, as I once did. The worse thing I could run into now is a Black Bear. When I lived and scouted for Mule deer and Elk in the off season in Wyoming south of Yellowstone I carried a .44 Magnum 51/2" Ruger Redhawk loaded with Randy Garrett 330 grain Hammerheads. I also did a lot of praying for my safety. Being young and stupid back then I spent way to much time out there by myself. I spent some time talking to author James Gary Shelton due to a friend's death due to bear attack and read all of his excellent books on bear attacks and bear attack survival. I can not recommend his works highly enough. He is a gentleman and a true scholar in every respect!

The black magics sure work well on whitetail deer. Minimal meat damage and pokes a 1” hole through organs.

I just got a batch of the Magnum Crush (paid to much!) for the Benelli Slug Gun. I would to try on my 3rd Brownie or Moose one day..or a Wyoming Bison?
I have custom slugs by Greg Sappington that "crushed" the completion at the Linebaugh Seminar years back. 880s and 1043s hard cast at 1440fps and 1080fps.
Now thats real Horspower!!
Another SERIOUS load is the Tri Ball 3" Magnums. 3)600 grain 60caliber hardcast balls that will group less than 8" at 40 yds when choked properly

They are made of a solid lead alloy, which ensures maximum penetration and expansion upon impact. This allows the slug to deliver a tremendous amount of stopping power. These slugs are also known for their accuracy. The design features a rifled slug, which provides better stability during flight and improves accuracy. This is important for hunters and self-defense situations where precision is key. The magnum designation indicates that these slugs are loaded with a heavier powder charge. This results in higher muzzle velocity and increased energy. The combination of the magnum load and the solid construction of the slug makes it extremely effective for taking down larger game or neutralizing threats. In conclusion, the Breneeke black magic magnum slugs are a powerful and reliable type of ammunition for shotguns. They offer excellent accuracy, penetration, and stopping power, making them an ideal choice for hunting and self-defense applications..

Reviews for "Behind the Scenes: Manufacturing Breneke Black Magic Magnum Slugs"

1. John Smith - 1 star - I bought a box of Breneeke Black Magic Magnum Slugs for hunting and was severely disappointed. These slugs had horrible accuracy and performed terribly in my shotgun. I missed multiple shots at close range, and the slugs would often veer off target unpredictably. I would not recommend these slugs to anyone who values accuracy and reliability.
2. Emily Johnson - 2 stars - I decided to give the Breneeke Black Magic Magnum Slugs a try, hoping for superior performance as advertised. Unfortunately, they left a lot to be desired. The recoil was incredibly harsh, making it difficult to maintain accuracy shot after shot. Additionally, the slugs tended to produce excessive smoke and foul up the barrel of my shotgun quickly. Overall, I found these slugs to be less effective than other options available on the market.
3. Michael Williams - 1 star - I was quite disappointed with the performance of the Breneeke Black Magic Magnum Slugs. Despite their claims of being powerful and devastating, I found them to be underwhelming. The slugs did not penetrate as deeply as I had hoped and did not deliver the knockdown power I expected. Additionally, the recoil was incredibly intense, causing discomfort and affecting my aim. I would not recommend these slugs for serious hunting or self-defense purposes.
4. Samantha Thompson - 2 stars - I purchased the Breneeke Black Magic Magnum Slugs based on their advertised high muzzle velocity and energy, thinking they would deliver superb results. However, I found them to be quite inconsistent in terms of accuracy and stopping power. While some shots hit their mark, others veered off target, and a few didn't even penetrate deep enough to effectively take down a target. Given the premium price of these slugs, I expected better overall performance. I would not buy them again.
