I have to admit, I was really disappointed with the inclusion of deviant magic in Fairy Tail. It felt like a complete departure from the magic system that was established in the series. It didn't make any sense to me why suddenly there would be this new type of magic that was so powerful but had never been mentioned before. It just threw off the balance of the story and felt like a lazy way to introduce new villains. I much preferred the original magic system and wish the creators had stuck with that.
