Making the Ordinary Extraordinary: Embracing the Magic Within

By admin

I've always been fascinated by the concept of magic. As a child, I would watch movies about witches and wizards, casting spells and performing incredible feats. I dreamed of having that kind of power, of being able to manipulate the world around me with a wave of my hand. But as I grew older, I realized that magic wasn't just something confined to the realms of fantasy. It exists in our everyday lives, in the small moments of wonder and awe that we often overlook. Magic can be found in the laughter of a child, in the beauty of a sunset, or in the kindness of a stranger.

Today’s Google Doodle Is A ‘Magic Cat Academy’ Halloween Game And It’s Great

If you head to Google’s homepage today you’ll be in for a (trick-or) treat.

The Google Doodle today is a sequel to 2016’s Magic Cat Academy Doodle. This time around you play as Momo the cat as he heads down into the ocean’s depths to take on spooky ghosts, foul fish and a pumpkin king of the deep, just in time for Halloween.

It’s a clever little game with five increasingly abyssal levels that grow darker and scarier as you descend. Momo the cat has a wand which she uses to defeat her enemies. Basically you have to draw the symbols over each bad guy’s head to vanquish them. This starts off simple, with just one or two symbols each, most of which are fairly easy to scribble.

It gets harder as you progress, with increasingly challenging combos and boss fights that twist the formula. You can play on your computer or phone/tablet and I have to say I recommend the latter.

Drawing symbols quickly with a mouse is just not as intuitive as touch controls. This is one of the few occasions you’ll ever hear me advocate for touch over mouse-and-keyboard, but it’s true. Mouse can be finnicky, and more than once I drew a little triangle symbol and it just didn’t register. Touch is easier.

You can check out the Doodle on Google’s home page or head over to this link to read more about it as well as some fun facts about jellyfish. (Fun fact: I was stung quite badly by jelly fish as a kid. I do not like jellyfish).

Magic can be found in the laughter of a child, in the beauty of a sunset, or in the kindness of a stranger. It's in those moments when we feel a connection to something greater than ourselves, when we're reminded that there is more to life than what meets the eye. I've come to believe that we all have a little bit of magic within us.
