Idk why but I came back to Church of Vows toward the end of my playthrough and Miriel was gone, but Elemer of the Briar showed up and dropped Meat Peddler's Bell Bearing.

You can kill him but If you do your armor gets replaced by godskin noble armor forever plus you are overloaded and rotted forever, if you kill him again in ng+ all the bosses in the game spawn in and can follow you through graces, and if you somehow beat the game your save file gets deleted. There is a relatively good chance that Miriel was/is a Mimic Tear. Silver coloration, silver mist at death, connection to the night folk through the Celestial Dew Ritual. Him being a large, sentient version of the mundane tortoises also lends some credence to this.

I saw some guy in the comments below say that Radagon was beaten by Rennala and then married to save himself when that definitely isn't true. A sword monument says that during the first Liurnian war Radagon's glory "burned bright like his hair" and you only get glory when you win fights so that means Radagon was clapping Raya Lucarian forces already. Second Rennala might be a strong champion but Radagon is a literal God who can deflect spells with his hand, he isn't losing. Third even if Radagon did lose they wouldn't need to make a peace alliance in fear because the Golden Order could have just sicked Godfrey on the academy. If anything Radagon beat Rennala in a fight, fell in love with her, repented his aggressions, and then married her. That is assuming they fought at all because Miriel just says that they met in the battlefield and not actually fought each other in it.
