The Knight Witch's performance on Switch is unacceptable.
The input delay present in this game on the Switch is unbelievable considering the fact that it is primarily a bullet hell action game (even if it's not anywhere near as insane as Japanese shmup bullet hells). I was very excited for this game for a while now. I enjoy using the Switch to play games in bed, as I have a hard time falling asleep, and light gaming helps.
The Knight Witch and Souldiers have put me off buying games on the Switch altogether. I plan on buying a Steam Deck at this point, and I think these games have left me with such buyer's remorse that I'm going to stick to emulating old games on my phone until I make the Deck purchase.
I know this is a negative post, and I'm not sure what I plan to gain from it. I'm just so angry that it takes a half a second for my character to move in what should be a tightly controlled action game. The problem is not present in the Steam version, and my PC's GPU is ancient. Hollow Knight is in a similar realm of graphical fidelity, but these games are just so poorly optimized for the Switch's hardware that I feel they should have worked harder to optimize them for the platform or avoid releasing on it altogether.
(I don't know if they've released a performance patch for Souldiers since the release date, but if they have, let me know, I'll give it another go.)
I know customer service will probably refund the purchase since I've never asked for a refund, and it seems they grant one-time exceptions to some if they claim the purchase was made accidentally. I might try. The game seems good, but not on the Switch.
