Formed in 1972, the group consists of members Ted Mills, Vernon Sawyer, Wendell Sawyer, Keith Beaton, and Richard Pratt. They gained popularity in the 1970s with their smooth and soulful sound. The group's debut album, also titled "Blue Magic," was released in 1974. It featured their hit single "Sideshow," which reached number one on the R&B charts and number eight on the Billboard Hot 100.
