Turn water off. open ball and clean seal thoroughly using a toothbrush and vinegar. Really give it a good cleaning especially the bottom of seal. Give the ball a good cleaning also. Rinse then using your hand rub the seal with olive oil, really working it in.

Close ball and pour some olive oil into bowl covering seal. Let it sit overnight. If oil has leaked out then you will need to replace seal.

Easy job as described. just 2 bolts in back of top section secure bowl to lower stand section.

Our toilet has the same problem, which brings me to this question. How do you keep oil in toilet,if it won't hold water.

Olive Oil is more viscous than water and will interact with the rubber to allow it to form a better seal. I would suggest that you quit resisting and try accepting. :-) Trying this suggsted solution is not costly and might solve your problem. If the rubber seal has been damaged and a chunk of rubber is missing in a critical area the oil won't fix the problem and a new seal will be required. Try it, you really have nothing to lose.

I also called thetford yesterday and a new seal is on the way, probably will not receive it until after this next camping trip.

I find it pretty amazing that thetford does not have any instructions online for replacing the seals for their toilets online. I also could not find any through google. Top secret iinfo I quess.

Vasoline works really well on the seal to keep it from losing water.

If the seal is rubber . isn't Vasoline a petroleum product that would destroy it?
Even my tube of Plumbers lube is a petroleum product.
Vegetable oil is safe foe rubber.

I was really disappointed with the Thetford aqus magic style io. First of all, the installation process was a nightmare. The instructions were very unclear and there were missing parts in the package. It took me hours just to figure out how to properly install the toilet. Once it was finally installed, I noticed that the flushing power was very weak. It struggled to flush down even the smallest amount of waste. I tried adjusting the water level and pressure, but it didn't make any difference. Overall, this toilet was a waste of money and I would not recommend it.

I purchased the Thetford aqus magic style io for my small bathroom, hoping it would be a space-saving solution. However, I found the design to be quite bulky and it took up more space than I had anticipated. Not only that, but the seat was uncomfortable and the flushing mechanism was unreliable. Sometimes it would flush with enough force, but other times it would barely flush at all. The constant inconsistency was frustrating. I ended up returning this toilet and opting for a different brand that provided a more reliable and comfortable experience.

I have had nothing but problems with the Thetford aqus magic style io since I purchased it. The main issue is with the water valve, which constantly leaks and doesn't shut off properly. This has resulted in a constant flow of water, leading to increased water bills and wasted resources. Additionally, the toilet seat feels flimsy and unstable, which makes me question the overall quality of the product. I have tried reaching out to customer service for assistance, but have not received a satisfactory resolution. Overall, I regret buying this toilet and would not recommend it to others.

The Thetford aqus magic style io was a complete disappointment. Not only did it arrive with missing parts, but the parts it did have were of poor quality. The toilet seat was very uncomfortable and felt like it would break any moment. The flushing power was lacking and it often required multiple flushes to get rid of even the smallest amount of waste. On top of all that, the installation was a headache. The instructions were confusing and it took me much longer than expected to get everything set up correctly. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different toilet option.
