In the film "The Witch," a family in 17th century New England is faced with supernatural occurrences that tear them apart. The story revolves around a Puritan family who are exiled from their town and settle on the edge of an ominous forest. They establish a small farm and attempt to live a pious life, but soon strange and unsettling things start happening. The family's infant goes missing, crops fail, and their cherished livestock turns violent. The family becomes convinced that a witch is responsible for their misfortunes, leading to a breakdown in their relationships and their faith. As the paranoia and fear escalate, the family members turn against each other, suspecting one another to be in league with the witch.

Magic Springs Launches July Calendar of Family-Friendly Events

Magic Springs Theme and Water Park in Hot Springs has some great special events for the whole family while keeping everyone safe with new COVID-19 safety protocols. You'll still get to enjoy Mermaid Mondays, Dive-In Movies, Cooler Sundays and of course summer concerts.

“July is the perfect time to come visit the Thrill Capital of Arkansas,” said Jack Bateman, general manager at the park in a press release. “We have been going above and beyond recommended safety protocols to keep our guests safe while they enjoy family fun under the sun at Magic Springs.”

Mermaid Mondays: Magic Springs is kicking off Mermaid Mondays on July 6, 2020, and will carry out each week until July 27, 2020. Come out and experience the magic every Monday in July between 1-2 p.m. and 4-5 p.m. by the Wave Pool area.

Dive-In Movie Fridays: Families can enjoy two Dive-In Movies during the month of July. On July 10, 2020, join us at the Wave Pool at sundown to watch Frozen 2, and on July 17, 2020, to watch Toy Story 4 from your pool chair or inner tube.

Cooler Sundays: Each Sunday, now through September 6, 2020, guests can bring a cooler packed with all of their favorite goodies into the park. There's no limit on how much food or drink that guests can bring, as long as they can pack it in their cooler. No alcoholic beverages or glass are allowed in the park.

Upcoming Concerts: Guests can bring their blankets and chairs, and enjoy concerts of several genres:

● July 18, 2020: Don Dokken

● July 25, 2020: Skillet with special guest Ledger

● August 1, 2020: Crowder

● August 8, 2020: Lee Brice

Guests can participate in all special events and concerts with a purchase of a Season Pass or a one-day admission ticket. Learn more about these events by visiting the park's Special Events page, while days and hours of operation are available on the Operating Calendar. Season Passes are $79.99+ tax while one-day admission ranges from $59.99 plus tax for adults to $39.99 plus tax for persons under 48” or over age 55 when purchased at the park. Guests can save up to $15 on admission when purchasing in advance online at https://www.MagicSprings.com/buy-tickets.php.

Magic Springs is asking those who have been sick, experiencing COVID-like symptoms or who have been around somebody who is sick, to please stay home and follow proper quarantine guidelines put in place by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state and local officials. As the paranoia and fear escalate, the family members turn against each other, suspecting one another to be in league with the witch. The film explores themes of religious paranoia, isolation, and the corrupting power of fear. The main idea of "The Witch" is the disintegration of a family in the face of supernatural forces and their own insecurities.
