After sitting through everyone's epilogue, I excitedly began to describe how my character returned to his childhood home pulling out the eye and hand of Vecna ready to cure the disease that's been torturing him for so long, but my DM stopped me and told me that the eye and hand of Vecna were not in my bag of holding. Now I was confused, I had modified my bag of holding so that no one could pull stuff out of the bag without knowing the secret requirement for pulling something out of the bag. I asked him "Is all my stuff gone or just the eye and hand" "No, just the eye and hand" (so the bad wasn't flipped inside out) "Do I know why they're not there" "No" At this point, I was flabbergasted and didn't know what to say or do, so I sat there blankly staring at my DM as my character's ending- his whole plan had been taken away from him without any sort of roll of the dice just with a snap of the fingers. My DM described how my character just sat there magic-less and dying, that's how his story ended nothing I could do.

To add salt to the wound I didn t get ANY other magical items in this campaign, granted I was a full caster and I understand that giving a full caster powerful magic items can be kind of scary in a party full of martials, but the other PCs had several very rare-to artifact level magic items and I got nothing besides the party s bag of holding and two magic items I couldn t use because they would have made me evil.

I know it's the end of the campaign so I shouldn't care too much about the items that have no use anymore and I had fun despite my ending but I'm still angry about it even a few days later. Should I be angry about this? Should I play with this DM again idk if I trust him anymore?
Tldr: Without any sort of roll my DM stole my wish-granting magic item that I needed for my character's ending. My character ended up dying sad and alone with no idea why his fortune turned out so poor.
Edit: Thanks Reddit for the advice. I do plan on talking to my DM when I get the chance. We're having a session 0 for a second campaign soon I'll try to bring it up with him before then.
