Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was an evil witch who ruled with fear and darkness. The people of the land were desperate for someone to save them from her tyranny. One day, a brave knight appeared. He was strong, courageous, and determined to defeat the witch and bring peace to the land. The witch, knowing of the knight's arrival, sent her minions to destroy him. But the knight fought valiantly, slaying every monster that came his way.

Rune rooms

There are three underground chambers or "rune rooms" around Loc Muinne. Each room has a warded chest protected by one of twenty-four possible combinations of four runes on the wall or floor: animal rune, art rune, sky rune and time rune. In each room there will also be a page with a written hint for the correct order to extinguish the runes (see below). Extinguish the runes in the correct order and the chest will open. If you extinguish the runes incorrectly, you'll either get burned, shocked, or poisoned. You can cast Quen to absorb the damage.

You will need to buy the Runes of Power series of books to decrypt the magical signs and hints in the rooms as part of the quest The Gargoyle Contract.

Upon deactivation of each seal, part of the following is heard:

You hold the sword of Aramil, who defied his king's rule. The Lord of the Wild Hunt desires the gene of the Elder Blood. He seeks to fling open the gates between the worlds, so that terror and destruction may reign. The King of the Hunt ordered me slain, and the wraiths born of his command assumed living form, pursuing me through the voids between the worlds for centuries. I have arrived at Loc Muinne. Though tired, I know I will not rest. The riders of the Hunt draw near. On my back I can feel their deathly breath.

Then once the seals in all three rooms have been activated, return to Bras of Ban Ard for reward of 200 and 150 XP.

But the knight fought valiantly, slaying every monster that came his way. As the knight continued his journey, he eventually reached the witch's castle, a dark and gloomy place filled with enchantments and traps. But the knight was undeterred.

He encountered enchanted creatures, solved perplexing puzzles, and overcame impossible odds. Each step brought him closer to his ultimate goal: defeating the witch once and for all. Meanwhile, the witch grew desperate. She saw the knight's determination and knew that her days of ruling were numbered. She tried to foil his plans by throwing everything she had at him. But the knight was relentless, pushing forward with unwavering resolve. Finally, the fateful day arrived. The knight stood before the witch, their final battle about to begin. The witch used every bit of her dark magic to try and defeat him. But the knight, fueled by the hope and faith of the people, fought back with a ferocity she had never witnessed before. In the end, the knight emerged victorious. The witch was defeated, her power vanquished, and the land was finally free from her reign of terror. The people rejoiced, celebrating their newfound freedom and the bravery of the knight. This tale teaches us that no matter how powerful or frightening our enemies may seem, bravery and determination will prevail. It shows us that even in the face of darkness, there is always hope. The witch and the brave knight fought their battle, and it was the knight's unwavering courage that ultimately brought about the triumph of good over evil..
