NHL standings and magic numbers. : a different way of looking at the standings, as well as projected finishing positions, using magic numbers. it's not as esoteric as it sounds.

Very interesting. Maybe a little too complicated for the average fan though. Also I'm sure the program can be modified to include the upcoming head-to-head matchups without much difficulty.

Assuming all teams continue to earn points at their current rates [This is funny] Seriously, although I respect the guy for taking the time to do all this analysis, I do not think NJD finishes sixth in the East--PHI will hit a rut and the Devils almost surely will take most of the points from the three games in hand they have on the Flyers.

Yeah, projections are good indicators for where a team might be going, but if they don't take into account the schedule they're pretty useless. For example, only 8 of Ottawa's last 23 games are at home. At the same time, they play Philly three times. One late season slump or streak can really earn you (or cost you) a few positions in the standings. Hell, the hottest team in the league right now (Boston) plays Philly twice this month. They win those, they could very easily leap-frog into first (especially when you consider that Ottawa and Toronto are average now. For all the flack that the Belfour-less Leafs are currently getting, it's still worth noting that in the last 10 games they have an almost identical record as the Sens.) So they're good for a quick comparison, but I think projections are always stupid.

owl, why would a Rangers fan site have any credibility?

Don't cast judgement so easily Billy. Yes, I'm a Ranger fan, but the Rodent is one of the single best hockey sites I visit. As is it's sister-site HockeyBird. And we'll see on those Devils, but they just look different now. They don't seem to have the same "It". Whether that is because of the loss of Stevens or not, I don't know. We'll see.

The Rodent is a stats demi-god. That guy finds angles Pythagoras hasn't thought of.

Reviews for "Find Your Lost Items with Ease Using the Inventel Magic Locator"

1. John - 1/5 stars - I was really disappointed with the Inventel magic locator. It claimed to be able to accurately locate lost items, but it was far from accurate. I spent hours trying to find my keys with this device, only for it to give me completely wrong readings. The design also felt cheap and flimsy, and the battery life was terrible. Overall, I would not recommend this product.
2. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I had high hopes for the Inventel magic locator, but it fell short of my expectations. While it did help me locate my lost items to some extent, it was not as accurate as it claimed to be. Additionally, the signal strength was quite weak, making it difficult to get a reliable reading. The device also had a limited range, which was frustrating. I think with some improvements, it could be a useful tool, but for now, I cannot fully recommend it.
3. Mike - 2/5 stars - The Inventel magic locator did not live up to the hype for me. I found the instructions to be confusing and poorly written, making it difficult to set up and use properly. Even when I did manage to get it working, the accuracy of the locator was hit or miss. Sometimes it would lead me right to my lost item, while other times it would give completely incorrect readings. Overall, I found the device to be unreliable and not worth the price.
4. Emma - 1/5 stars - I regret purchasing the Inventel magic locator. It simply did not work as advertised. The range was incredibly limited, so I had to be standing right next to the item I was trying to locate for it to work. The battery died quickly, and the locator did not provide accurate readings. Even when I followed the instructions correctly, it failed to help me find my lost items. Save your money and look for a more reliable product.
