Ralfi Pagan only one whisper of your love

Hey, have you ever tried
Really reaching out for the other side?
I may be climbing on rainbows
But, baby, here goes

Dreams, they're for those who sleep
Life is for us to keep
And if you're wondering what this song is leading to

I wanna make it with you
I really think that we could make it, girl

No, you don't know me well
And every little thing, only time will tell
If you believe the things that I do
And we'll see it through

Life can be short or long
Love can be right or wrong
And if I chose the one I'd like to help me through

I'd like to make it with you
I really think that we could make it, girl

Baby, you know that dreams they're for those who sleep
Life, it's for us to keep
And if I chose the one I'd like to help me through

I'd like to make it with you
I really think that we could make it, girl Writer/s: David Gates

  • Anon I sometimes heard this on K-Earth 101 back when I was younger as well as Baby I'm-a Want You and Guitar Man. Mr. Gates' voice was so dulcet and sweet that the song could have been made for his adoring wife. The non-ironic and non-heartbreaking use of "baby", "babe" and "girl" send a sweet message to the intended woman that the song is for. If his wife had heard "Make It With You", she would have had tears of joy spilling down her cheeks and would have been kissing her husband all over his face.

  • Eric from Point Place, Wisconsin (green Bay Suburb) This song was played when Eric and Donna at the end of the "Van Stock" episode of "That '70's Show"
  • Joel from Kenosha, Wi Hate to admit this, I've been saying that a lot for some reason, but I like this song. I never really listened to A.M. radio that much but now I tend to listen to it a lot especially when I'm alone in the car or spending some quality romantic time with my girlfriend. Guess I'm kinda stuck in the seventies.
  • Guy from Woodinville, Wa Just classic sweet soft rock as only Bread could deliver. I would like to hear the Earth Wind & Fire cover. I'm going to see them in concert tnight--it would be cool if they performed it, but they never have yet.
  • Les from Joplin, Mo The odd lyrics, "Hey have you ever tried really reaching out for the other side. " kinda seems to imply the gay thing.
  • Joe from Laredo, Tx This was the first Bread song I had ever heard. I just fell so in love with this song. Especially the guitar intro followed by the bass. The album cover to "On the Waters" was great photography. The flip side to that 45 was "Why do you keep me waiting". I thought that was a pretty good song too. This album is really a signature album of the (early) seventies with maybe a pinch of late 60's. I have heard the song "I AM that I AM" from the same album on christian radio. That surprised me.
  • Dave from Cardiff, Wales Great song - one for speeding down the highway with all the windows down at full blast on a midsummer's day!
  • Kerry G. from Detroit Rock City, Mi This and "Baby I'm A Want You" are THEE best love songs ever made.
