The once tight-knit community was now divided, as distrust and fear took hold. Amongst the chaos, stood Sasha Peyton Smith, a young and curious girl with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Unaffected by the fear and suspicion around her, Sasha knew that the only way to solve this mystery was through investigation and rational thinking.

Lately, I’ve just been writing with a big cup of ice water next to me which is so boring! I’m also a tea drinker, I’ll often make myself a few cups of earl grey to stay awake while I’m drafting late at night. My favorite writing snacks are flavor blasted goldfish and sour gummy worms…just putting that in writing makes my tongue hurt.

I can understand Frances frustration with the school learning the same repetitive things, talking about the moments that lead them to Haxahaven, and feeling like it s all a waste of time. Meanwhile Lena is stoic and supportive while quiet and reserved, she shows she loves Frances by helping her and acting as the chaperone on their outings in the woods.

The Witch Haven

The Last Magician meets The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy in this thrilling and atmospheric historical fantasy following a young woman who discovers she has magical powers and is thrust into a battle between witches and wizards.

In 1911 New York City, seventeen-year-old Frances Hallowell spends her days as a seamstress, mourning the mysterious death of her brother months prior. Everything changes when she’s attacked and a man ends up dead at her feet—her scissors in his neck, and she can’t explain how they got there.

Before she can be condemned as a murderess, two cape-wearing nurses arrive to inform her she is deathly ill and ordered to report to Haxahaven Sanitarium. But Frances finds Haxahaven isn’t a sanitarium at all: it’s a school for witches. Within Haxahaven’s glittering walls, Frances finds the sisterhood she craves, but the headmistress warns Frances that magic is dangerous. Frances has no interest in the small, safe magic of her school, and is instead enchanted by Finn, a boy with magic himself who appears in her dreams and tells her he can teach her all she’s been craving to learn, lessons that may bring her closer to discovering what truly happened to her brother.

Frances’s newfound power attracts the attention of the leader of an ancient order who yearns for magical control of Manhattan. And who will stop at nothing to have Frances by his side. Frances must ultimately choose what matters more, justice for her murdered brother and her growing feelings for Finn, or the safety of her city and fellow witches. What price would she pay for power, and what if the truth is more terrible than she ever imagined?

She started by researching the town's history, digging through old books and archives, uncovering forgotten tales and legends. Piece by piece, Sasha started to assemble a story that seemed to explain the origin of the witch rumors. Legend had it that centuries ago, a coven of witches lived in the woods that surrounded Ravenswood. They were said to possess incredible powers, capable of both great good and immense evil. The townspeople, however, became fearful of their abilities and accused them of using dark magic. As Sasha delved deeper into the tale, she discovered a crucial piece of information. The town's founder, Jonathan Ravenswood, had cast a spell on the coven, binding their powers and ensuring their loyalty to the town. This spell was meant to protect the people, but over time, its purpose had been forgotten, and fear had taken its place. Sasha realized that the witch rumors were simply a result of this forgotten piece of history. The townspeople, unaware of the binding spell and its intentions, allowed irrational fear to control their actions. Armed with this knowledge, Sasha set out to share her findings with the community, hoping to restore reason and understanding. Through a series of town meetings and presentations, Sasha presented her research with clarity and passion. She explained the true story behind the witches, emphasizing the power of knowledge and understanding. Slowly but surely, the atmosphere in Ravenswood began to change. The people started to question their fears and open their minds to the possibility that they had been wrong. In the end, Sasha Peyton Smith's inquiry proved to be a catalyst for change and reconciliation. The town of Ravenswood learned that their fears were unfounded, and the rumors of witches were nothing more than a misunderstanding from the past. The community came together, embracing the power of knowledge and leaving behind the irrational fear that had once consumed them. Sasha's journey reminded everyone that knowledge and inquiry are the keys to dispelling fear and replacing it with understanding. Her determination and courage transformed Ravenswood, bringing harmony back to a town torn apart by superstition. Sasha Peyton Smith truly became a beacon of light amidst the darkness, teaching the value of rational thinking and the importance of seeking the truth..

Reviews for "The Witch Hunt Continues: Sasha Peyton Smith's Investigation"

1. Emily - ★★☆☆☆
I was really excited to read "Sasha Peyton Smith and the Witch Inquiry" as I'm a fan of detective stories and witchcraft. However, I was quite disappointed with this book. The plot was predictable, and the characters lacked depth. Sasha, the main character, was portrayed as this amazing detective, but her methods were rather cliché and unrealistic. Additionally, the writing style was average at best and there were several grammatical errors throughout the book. Overall, I found it to be quite underwhelming and wouldn't recommend it.
2. Alex - ★☆☆☆☆
I couldn't finish "Sasha Peyton Smith and the Witch Inquiry." The story was slow-paced and failed to engage me from the beginning. The characters felt one-dimensional, and I couldn't form a connection with any of them. Moreover, the dialogue seemed forced and unnatural. The author also seemed to rely heavily on stereotypes and clichés, which made the story feel unoriginal. I regret purchasing this book and would advise others to avoid it.
3. Michael - ★★☆☆☆
"Sasha Peyton Smith and the Witch Inquiry" had potential, but it failed to live up to my expectations. The writing style was dull, lacking any sort of excitement or suspense that one would expect from a detective novel. The author attempted to add suspenseful elements by including supernatural elements, but they felt out of place and poorly executed. The pacing was inconsistent, with long periods of boredom followed by abrupt action scenes that felt disconnected from the rest of the story. Overall, it was a forgettable read and not one that I would recommend.
