If you don t pay attention to famous movie titles, I can see this being semi-baffling, but if you re even passingly interested in movies, then this was a cinch. I do love movies and did not mind being reminded of some of these, but as far as the puzzleness of it all goes, I would ve loved something a bit more fearsome and a lot less ho-hum than this.

Has anyone found a definitive way to keep Windows 10 from automatically installing crap apps like Network Speed Test, Photoshop and Candy Crush?

No matter what I've done, I keep seeing Windows Update download these apps.

Even though it will not keep it from installing it will remove them. Only Windows 10 Enterprise or Education can have that option.

When we deployed our first couple of Windows 10 Professional machines I was mortified to find these "Apps" showing back up after a new build was installed. I eventually found two methods that seem to work pretty well for us. Though we lean toward the 2nd option more now. 1. Create your own custom Windows 10 Professional media If you remove the "Apps" from the core media, when you deploy the Operating System as part of your image - there are no apps to install because they aren't there to deploy anymore. Process summary:
1) Obtain source .ISO file
2) Extract source .ISO file contents to new folder
3) Mount and modify the install.wim file
4) Commit changes to the install.wim file
5) Create your image with this new installation media without the included applications Detailed instructions below:
1) Copy installer.wim file from original installation media to C:\
2) Open an Administrative command prompt window 3)

2. Using the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit to install an Image and incorporate the decrapifier script as a task which runs as the computer is getting setup.

This has worked really well for us so far but unfortunately this method really only works for new deployments moving forward. You have to implement these methods at the very beginning of your OS deployment. In other words, this won't really work well for Windows 10 machines that you already have out there in the wild..
