The Magic of Storytelling: How Magic Cards Capture the Imagination

By admin

Hello everyone, I wanted to take a moment to talk about our love for magic cards. Many of us are enthusiastic collectors or players who have spent countless hours building our decks and perfecting our strategies. Magic cards have a unique ability to bring people together, encouraging friendly competition and sparking conversations that might not have otherwise happened. Whether we are playing casual games with friends or participating in local tournaments, these cards have become an integral part of our lives. One of the reasons why magic cards hold such a special place in our hearts is their intricate artwork. The illustrations on these cards are incredibly detailed and imaginative, often transporting us to otherworldly realms.

The first circle at Dominaria is six months before it rotated, and you’re getting a decent price, but because the card is the #15th most played land in Modern, present in 10% of decks and averaging 3-4 copies per deck, it didn’t fall much farther. Recently it popped up to $10 and came back down, but the really impressive growth was in the foil that went from $15, doubled briefly to $30, and is back in the $22 range. It’s seeing too much play to stay this cheap.

Since I m only a mediocre player of the game leave me alone, the game is complex, and I m not really all that bright , one of my favorite things to do is trade magic cards. We recommend using one sleeve for multiple cards, it will keep them protected, but will save us lots of time as we need to unsleeve everything to assess card conditions.

Each card tells a story, and the artwork plays a significant role in bringing that story to life. It's amazing to see how much effort and creativity goes into designing these sets.

We Buy Magic: The Gathering Cards

Here’s what you need to know about our process:

Our Standards

We follow TCGplayer’s grading standards when evaluating your cards. We use TCGplayer Buylist Market Price to determine our pricing. This usually works out to about 60-65% of a card’s TCG Market Price in store credit. If you’d prefer cash or check, we pay half of the store-credit value. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian with ID present in order to sell us cards. We do not usually purchase altered or autographed cards. We do not buy cards in bulk, unless they are part of a larger collection. In that case we pay $3 per 1000 bulk cards.

Collections of more than 1000 cards will be assessed an appraisal fee of $30 per 1000. This amount may be deducted from any offer made for the collection.

Our Practices

We schedule our purchases by appointment to ensure we can give you our full attention. To schedule an appointment, please email us with the subject: "Selling Magic Cards." Please provide an estimate of the size of the collection you will be bringing. All transactions and evaluations are recorded by a security camera, so you can be assured your cards are safe and secure at all times!

We also encourage you to observe our trained team as they work with your cards. We are required by the District of Columbia to photograph your ID and collect information including your name, current address, and phone number.

Observing how a card moves from preorder to set release and price movement during its season requires a deep, thorough understanding of how it fits into formats from kitchen table to Vintage. What we know for sure is that at the end of a card’s season, it’s generally at its cheapest point. Supply has been maximized, the people who need it for decks have gotten the copies they need.
