Gone are the days of resurrecting for free. Don't you know bringing someone back to life comes with a price? It's about time you learn. For every subsequent life you live, you will find life to be increasingly unstable. Enjoy. Death Curse is a Minecraft datapack that applies a curse to players that respawn. For every respawn, the curse worsens. Some of the features require particles to be enabled so be sure to turn them on! I've made this page and the in-game guide book intentionally vague so that you can have fun learning the mechanics. If you'd like more details, see the GitHub project page. There is also a complimentary resource pack for the datapack. It is not required, but it improves the experience by adding textures for custom items and adds one unique sound effect. Design, Objectives, and Balance Here are some notes on the thought process I had when balancing the datapack. I'm pretty happy with what I ended up with, but I'd love to hear about your experience and any balance ideas you may have.

Objectives

  • Create a stronger incentive for the player not to die. It doesn't matter if you're conveniently at your base or your inventory is empty, death should always be avoided!
  • Effects should be challenging and not annoying
  • Level X curse level should be a playable experience
  • Effects should feel like a worsening curse

Curse Effects

  • Nausea is used in tiny to small amounts to portray feelings of dizziness and fatigue
  • Poison effect will decrease player health to 3♥ at most (2½♥ at curse level VIII+)
  • Hunger will not be applied when player food is 3🍗 or less to allow afk-ing
  • To see exactly how the effects are applied, see the GitHub project page

Relief Items

  • Curse cookie recipe was designed with gold farms in mind
  • For a detailed descriptions on item mechanics, see the GitHub project page

Every death your curse level increases by one. The following lists the effects for each curse level:

Death Curse I

Death Curse II

Death Curse III

Death Curse IV

Death Curse V

Death Curse VI

Death Curse VII

Death Curse VIII

Death Curse IX

  • -4♥
  • heavy nausea
  • intense fatigue
  • heavy curse leak
  • heavy poison
  • mob aggression

Death Curse X+

Curse level will continue to increase past level ten, but no new effects are added.

Curse Relief Curse Cookies

Curse Cookie I Crafting Recipe

Curse cookies are the most cost effective way to reduce the negative effects of the Death Curse. Eating a curse cookie will reduce your curse level by one for 30 minutes.

When dropped on the ground, curse cookies prefer to morph together. If four curse cookies are left on the ground together, after 10-20 seconds, they will combine into a more potent cookie.

Curse Ward I Crafting Recipe

Curse wards are the next step up in both curse relief and cost. Instead of needing to be consumed, a curse ward will decrease your curse level just by being in your inventory. They also have the added bonus of being tougher than your average item. Curse wards are immune to despawning, fire, and lava, but are not immune to explosions.

Similar to curse cookies, four curse wards can be combined to create a stronger version. They are combined in the same way as curse cookies but, unlike curse cookies, have an additional requirement of heat.

Resurrection Abomination Crafting Recipe

Resurrection abominations are the final form of curse relief. With one, you can can start the resurrection ritual which will permanently undo death.

Once the resurrection ritual has begun, players will not be able to sleep until it is complete. To complete the ritual, any players taking part must stand outside at midnight. If this criteria is not met, the ritual will fail and the item will be lost. It is strongly advised to empty your inventory before midnight.

I bet there's a way to make these even more powerful. I just need to find a place that can handle that much heat.

Player triggers are available to all players.

/trigger death_curse_level
Tells the player their current death count and curse level.

/trigger death_curse_intro
Resends the Death Curse introductory message.

/trigger death_curse_book
Gives the player another copy of the Death Curse guide book.

Operator functions are only available to players with operator level permissions.

/function death_curse:op/uninstall
Removes all scoreboard objectives, scheduled functions, and entities with custom tags. The next time the datapack is reloaded, the datapack will run like it did the first time.

/function death_curse:op/disable_for_player
Used to disable the Death Curse for a specific player.

/function death_curse:op/enable_for_player
Used to enable the Death Curse for a specific player (default enabled for everyone).

Guide to Curse of Vanishing in Minecraft

If you're a Minecraft player, then you're likely familiar with enchantments and their ability to enhance your gameplay experience. One such enchantment is the Curse of Vanishing - an enchantment that can be both helpful and frustrating. In this guide, we'll take an in-depth look at this enchantment, covering everything from its effects to how to remove it on your own Minecraft server. Let's get started!

Foxes are often associated with cunning, agility, and intelligence, which are desirable qualities for a mascot. Additionally, foxes are visually appealing, with their sleek fur and striking features. This makes them an ideal choice to capture the attention and interest of audiences.

Understanding the Curse of Vanishing in Minecraft

The Curse of Vanishing is a unique and often misunderstood enchantment in Minecraft. While it can be a helpful tool in certain situations, it can also be frustrating to deal with if not used correctly.

One interesting use of the Curse of Vanishing is in player vs. player combat. If a player has an enchanted diamond sword with the Curse of Vanishing and they die in combat, they won't lose the sword - it will simply disappear, preventing their opponent from claiming it. This can be a strategic move for players who don't want to risk losing their valuable items to their opponents.

However, the Curse of Vanishing can also be a hindrance if not used carefully. If a player accidentally drops an item with this curse, it will disappear forever, leaving them unable to retrieve it. This can be especially frustrating if the item was rare or valuable.

What is the Maximum Level for the Curse of Vanishing?

The Curse of Vanishing has a maximum level of I, meaning it can only be applied once to an item. This is different from other enchantments that can be stacked to increase their effectiveness. While this may seem limiting, it also means that players don't have to worry about accidentally applying too many levels of the curse to their items.

Which Items Can Have the Curse of Vanishing Enchantment?

The Curse of Vanishing can only be applied to certain items in Minecraft. These items include:

  • Armor (helmets, chestplates, leggings, and boots)
  • Tools (swords, pickaxes, axes, shovels, and hoes)
  • Bows and arrows
  • Fishing rods
  • Elytra wings

It's important to note that the Curse of Vanishing cannot be applied to any items that are already enchanted. This means that players must choose between applying other enchantments or the Curse of Vanishing to their items.

What are the Secondary Items for the Curse of Vanishing?

The Curse of Vanishing has no secondary items, meaning it cannot be combined with other enchantments to create more powerful effects. While this may seem like a drawback, it also means that the curse is straightforward and easy to understand.

How is the Enchantment Weight Calculated for the Curse of Vanishing?

The Curse of Vanishing has a very low enchantment weight, meaning it's not likely to be applied to an item through regular enchanting methods. However, it can be applied through the use of enchanted books or an anvil. This makes the curse more rare and valuable, as it requires more effort to obtain.

How to Remove the Curse of Vanishing Enchantment

If you've accidentally applied the Curse of Vanishing to an item and want to remove it, there are a few ways to do so. The first method is to use a grindstone - simply place the cursed item in the input slot, and it will remove all enchantments from the item, including the Curse of Vanishing.

The second method is to use an enchanted book with a different enchantment on the item. This will overwrite the existing enchantment, including the Curse of Vanishing. Finally, players can also use an anvil to combine two of the same item - one with the Curse of Vanishing and one without - to remove the curse from the item.

Overall, the Curse of Vanishing is a unique and valuable enchantment in Minecraft. While it requires more effort to obtain and can be frustrating to deal with at times, it can also be a strategic tool for players who want to protect their valuable items in combat.

To bring the fox mascot to life, regalia or costumes are used. These regalia typically consist of a full-body suit that is designed to resemble a fox. The costume often includes a headpiece with a fox's face, complete with ears, eyes, and a mouth. The suit is usually made from high-quality materials that are durable and comfortable for the wearer. In addition to the basic costume, fox mascot regalia may also include additional accessories. These can include gloves or paws that mimic the appearance of a fox's paws, as well as a tail that attaches to the back of the costume. These accessories help to complete the overall look and enhance the authenticity of the mascot. When it comes to wearing fox mascot regalia, it is important for the wearer to consider comfort and mobility. The regalia should be lightweight and breathable, allowing the wearer to move around freely without feeling restricted or overheated. Proper ventilation and padding should also be incorporated into the design to ensure the wearer's comfort throughout any event or performance. Overall, fox mascot regalia plays a crucial role in bringing a mascot to life. It not only serves as a visual representation of the mascot but also helps to create an engaging and memorable experience for audiences. The design and quality of the regalia are important factors in creating a successful and impactful mascot that can entertain and captivate audiences of all ages..
