The Story Behind Iggwilv: The Witch Queen in 5th Edition

By admin

Iggwilv the witch queen is a prominent character in the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) fantasy role-playing game. She first appeared in the Greyhawk campaign setting, but has since made appearances in various other campaign settings as well. Iggwilv is known for her immense power and cunning wit. She is a legendary spellcaster and possesses extensive knowledge of the arcane arts. She has been described as a beautiful and seductive woman, but beneath her enchanting exterior lies a ruthless and manipulative nature. One of Iggwilv's most notable achievements is the creation of the notorious demon prince Graz'zt.

Most people, however, choose to be on the main floor even if it meant actually being further in the back of the room, closer to the bar than the stage. Unwell takes the energy down a notch and it leans purely into vulnerability, it almost reminds me of The 1975 in the first minute and a half of the song, then it explodes into heavy menacing guitars and ends with a surprising piano and violin part, perhaps it would ve been a good idea to put this track at the very end.

Magic hour surd curse

One of Iggwilv's most notable achievements is the creation of the notorious demon prince Graz'zt. She summoned him to the Material Plane and became his lover, resulting in the birth of their son, Iuz, who would go on to become a powerful villain in his own right. Iggwilv is also known for her collection of powerful artifacts, including the Demonomicon of Iggwilv.

Magic hour surd curse

This might be their most diverse release so far and I'm absolutely here for it

The album begins with "Arrow" reminiscent of 90's Pavementeque slacker rock. A fairly good vibey and energetic lil song that's trying to prime you for the pain that's to come

"Cathy " is a mellow Smashing Pumpkins flavored jangly piece of music with a slightly cheesy vocal delivery on the chorus

"Sugar " almost sounds like heartland rock, and it's where I feel that the gut punching part of the album begins. The lyrics are pretty sparse, but it makes up for that with raw emotion

"Lost Honor " is a good old indie rock and post-punk revival-tinged song, I think that people who like Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever will enjoy this (including myself)
The lyrics really hit home. 2:45+ is really anthemic and it makes you want to sing along to

"Self Portrait" is my favourite from the bunch since it manages so well to be abrasive yet full of vulnerability, it's almost a post-hardcore song, which I didn't expect and 2:38+ gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it. An almost perfect song

"Unwell" takes the energy down a notch and it leans purely into vulnerability, it almost reminds me of The 1975 in the first minute and a half of the song, then it explodes into heavy menacing guitars and ends with a surprising piano and violin part, perhaps it would've been a good idea to put this track at the very end

"Strange" is a fairly forgettable slacker rock tune

"TVI" sounds a lot like their early material, energetic surf punk mixed with power pop, really playful and uplifting. Fairly strange placement in the album

"Little Rock 'n' Roller" is a little indie rock tune that fans of Twin Peaks and perhaps Peach Pit will probably enjoy. Nothing special really

"No Tomorrows" is a slow bedroom pop tune, something like Yellow Days or Palace that turns into noisy psychedelia towards the end. Can't say I care much for it

"Fear City" now this is something I didn't expect, or perhaps I should have expected since these last few years UK based art punk was all the rage. They did a flawless job at incorporating the saxophone (even if they could've played more diversified notes on it) and the subdued/energetic parts are almost perfectly blended in

"Randall Flagg" is yet another Pavementesque slacker rock tune that is executed really well and has probably the best lyrical content on this album

I rate it 7.5 due to the presence of a few fillers, and some songs that although good they felt quite derivative.

Reviews for "Secrets of Iggwilv: The Witch Queen's Hidden Knowledge in 5e"

1. John - 1/5 - I was really disappointed with "Iggwilv the Witch Queen 5e." The storyline felt disjointed and poorly developed, making it hard to follow and engage with the characters. Additionally, the writing itself was filled with spelling and grammatical errors, which made it even more difficult to enjoy. Overall, I found the adventure to be lacking in creativity and polish, leaving me unsatisfied as a reader.
2. Lisa - 2/5 - I recently played through "Iggwilv the Witch Queen 5e" and I have to say, it fell short of my expectations. The overall plot was interesting, but the execution left a lot to be desired. The pacing was inconsistent, with certain parts dragging on while others felt rushed and unresolved. I also found the descriptions of the locations and encounters to be lacking detail, making it difficult to immerse myself in the world. While there were some enjoyable moments, the overall experience left me wanting more.
3. Mark - 2/5 - "Iggwilv the Witch Queen 5e" had potential, but ultimately failed to deliver. The character development was shallow and the dialogue felt forced and unnatural. The mechanics of the adventure were also poorly designed, leading to unbalanced encounters and frustrating gameplay. Furthermore, the world-building felt generic and uninspired, lacking the depth and originality I had hoped for. Overall, I found the module to be underwhelming and would not recommend it to others.
