I was reading the lore about blood magic randomly out of curiosity and I encountered the idea (introduced in inquisition and a novel apparently) that blood magic doesn't involve accessing the fade and in fact makes it harder to touch the fade. This seems a bit puzzling to me because usually in the games blood magic is represented as kind of like a hyper version of magic that exaggerates all of magic's normal risks, including demonic possession. It seems like some of these lore sources are implying that actually blood magic is kind of like the opposite of normal magic.
If blood magic users are getting further from the fade then why do they become more vulnerable to demonic possession? How does this fit in with lore about other alleged abilities that blood magic facilitates, like finding the souls of dreamers in the fade to dominate them, or allowing things to physically pass between the fade and the normal world? This feels to me like a weird insertion into the lore that doesn't make any sense and introduces inconsistencies, even if it's cool think about some of the bigger implications (blood being to the physical world as lyrium is to the fade, etc).
