  3. Introducing Gulliver: California Coast University’s New Official Mascot
By CCU Staff

When California Coast University decided to create a mascot, we had to think about who or what we wanted it to be. We thought “California Coast” “coastline” “ocean” something that would relate to our name and the coast. In our logo, there was a seagull and we thought let's choose the seagull for our mascot.

Next, our seagull needed to have a name. We launched a competition at the University for faculty and staff to name the “gull.” After the votes were counted, the winning name was “Gulliver.” We thought the name was perfect because Gulliver, as in Gulliver’s Travels, would be traveling around the country with different staff members to events and meeting the public.

As we are still putting the finishing touches on Gulliver, we will keep you posted on his launch date. Also, watch for Gulliver’s Facebook page where he will keep our students and graduates updated on his travels.

For more information on Gulliver’s creator, please read this article on Angela Cenina, California Coast University Registrar, faculty member, and artist.

Reviews for "Sants Cruz's Seaweed Alchemy: Unveiling the Magic"

1. John - 2 stars - I was really excited to try out Santa Cruz Magic Seaweed after hearing so many great things about it. However, I was highly disappointed with my experience. The seaweed itself had a weird texture and tasted bland. It definitely did not live up to the hype for me. I would not recommend it to others.
2. Emily - 1 star - I had high hopes for Santa Cruz Magic Seaweed, but it was a complete letdown. The seaweed was extremely salty and overpowering. It completely overpowered any other flavors in the dish I tried to use it in. I couldn't enjoy my meal at all because of the strong and unpleasant taste of the seaweed. I would not purchase it again.
3. Mike - 2 stars - I didn't find anything "magical" about Santa Cruz Magic Seaweed. The taste was quite average and lacked any distinctiveness. I was expecting a unique and flavorful experience, but it was just like any other generic seaweed product I've tried before. The packaging also seemed to be a bit flimsy, which was disappointing. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this again.
4. Sarah - 2 stars - Santa Cruz Magic Seaweed did not meet my expectations. I found it to be dry and brittle, making it difficult to enjoy. The flavor was also lacking - it had a slight fishy taste that wasn't very appealing. I would have liked it to be more fresh and flavorful. Overall, I was disappointed with the quality and taste of this product.
