Scarab Occult Assassins are a specialized and elite unit within the Thousand Sons legion of Chaos Space Marines. I had high hopes for the models, but they were quite difficult to assemble and the fine details were not as crisp as expected. Additionally, in terms of gameplay, they weren't as versatile or effective as I had hoped. Their special abilities often felt underwhelming, making them not worth the high points cost. Overall, I wouldn't recommend investing in the Scarab Occult Assassins unless you are a die-hard Thousand Sons fan.

2. Sarah - 3 out of 5 stars - While the concept of the Scarab Occult Assassins is intriguing, I found them to be a bit underwhelming in terms of their usefulness on the tabletop. Their unique weapons are interesting, but their range and damage output seemed lackluster compared to other options available to Thousand Sons armies. Additionally, the models themselves are quite fragile and can easily be taken out by dedicated anti-infantry units. For the points cost, I expected more from these elite warriors. I would suggest considering other unit options before investing in the Scarab Occult Assassins.

Not only were the models a pain to assemble with their fiddly bits, but their rules and abilities felt lackluster on the tabletop. They didn't really excel in any particular role and were easily outperformed by other elite units in the Thousand Sons army. Furthermore, their high points cost made it difficult to field them in meaningful numbers, limiting their impact on the game. I regret spending my hard-earned money on the Scarab Occult Assassins and would not recommend them to other players.
