Through movement exploration, dancers reach progressive levels of physical skill development and are taught the vocabulary of dance, as well as the pioneers of modern dance. Exploring the creativity and imagination of childhood, dancers have the opportunity to improve, engage in creative problem solving and grow in cognitive, social and emotional ways as they interact in class.
To his surprise, as soon as he slips them onto his paws, the world around him transforms into a winter wonderland. As the clock strikes midnight, Whiskers is granted a wish: the ability to speak. Overwhelmed with excitement, he ventures into the night, sharing his newfound gift with all the animals he encounters.
About Southwest Dance Company
Southwest Dance Company is the exclusive children’s creative, modern dance studio in St. George, UT since 1982. Our faculty members have many years of experience teaching modern dance. The focus of our dance studio is to instruct your dancer in children’s creative, modern dance. Our dance curriculum is created for age-appropriate dance instruction for each individual age group. It is a progressive technical experience for each individual. By the end of the year, you will see tremendous growth in your dancer and their technical abilities. Our annual dance concert in June is a wonderful setting for you to observe this development in your child’s movement.

Throughout his adventure, Whiskers learns valuable lessons about kindness, gratitude, and the importance of cherishing loved ones. He realizes that the true magic of Christmas lies in the connections we make and the compassion we show one another. As the morning sun rises, the magic of the shoes begins to wear off. Whiskers reluctantly takes off the shoes, knowing that they must be returned to their hidden place in the attic until the next Christmas Eve. Though sad to say goodbye to his newfound abilities, Whiskers feels a sense of contentment and gratitude for the unforgettable experience. Overall, I was disappointed with this book and wouldn't recommend it.
