[D&D 3.5] Complete Mage-Acidic Splatter and its consequences (1 Viewer)

For 26 years or so, my experience of playing D&D has had one major limitation: spells are supposed to be a limited resource. If you note that your magic-user can now cast 6th level spells, and you proceed to disintegrate several hundred monsters without stopping to notice that you're supposed to get only a limited number of 6th-level spells . the game is in trouble.

The problem, typically, has been the attitude that since spells are very interesting, they must happen rarely, and wizards ought to be stuck spending most rounds twiddling their thumbs, or throwing darts, or something.

I rejoiced when Iron Heroes came out with the Arcanist, who could throw Eldritch Darts every round, forever. I rejoiced when The Complete Arcane came out with the Warlock, which was even more powerful.

Now The Complete Mage has the Acidic Splatter feat. Starting as soon as you can cast 2nd level spells -- presumably no sooner than 3rd level -- you can hold your highest level acid-related spell in reserve and get a short-range unlimited ammo attack. It's a bit like blazing away with a snub-nosed pistol -- you must close to short range before firing. But you never run out of ammo. Plus -- all this is accomplished with just one feat, and one idle spell slot. You are still a full wizard, rather than a warlock.

For quite a few campaigns, this kind of feat is worth much more than the cost. (Of course, a malicious DM can frustrate any build, up to and including Pun-Pun, with arbitrary rulings. )

What kind of builds work best with Acidic Splatter?

Reviews for "Create a Spooky Atmosphere at Your Baby Shower with a Blessed with a Bump Witch Cake Topper"

- Jane - 2 stars - I was really excited to receive this witch cake topper because it looked so cute in the pictures. However, I was really disappointed when I opened the package. The colors were not as vibrant as shown, and the quality of the materials was really poor. The topper felt cheap and flimsy, and I was worried it would break. Overall, I expected better for the price I paid.
- Alex - 1 star - I regret buying this cake topper. The overall design was nice, but the execution was terrible. The topper had multiple scratches and dents, and I even noticed glue residue on it. It looked like it was already used or someone mishandled it during production. I reached out to customer service, but they were unhelpful and didn't offer a solution. Do not waste your money on this subpar product.
- Emily - 2 stars - The idea behind this witch cake topper is adorable and unique, which is why I bought it. However, once I received it, I realized the proportions were off. The body of the witch was too small compared to the size of the bump, making it look unnatural. Additionally, the packaging was insufficient, and the topper arrived with a broken arm. I would have appreciated better quality control before shipping this out to customers.
- Mike - 1 star - I was really excited to surprise my pregnant wife with this witch cake topper as she loves both Halloween and baking. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The colors were not as vibrant as advertised, and the plastic felt cheap and fragile. We were scared to even put it on top of the cake for fear of breaking it. Save your money and find a better quality cake topper elsewhere.
