Pushing Boundaries: Innovations in Magic Pinz Quilting

By admin

Magic Pinz Quilting is a unique and innovative technique that combines traditional quilting methods with the use of special pins to create stunning and intricate designs. It is a relatively new concept in quilting that has gained popularity among quilters around the world. The magic pins used in this technique are specially designed to hold the layers of fabric together securely, allowing for precise stitching and ensuring that the quilt doesn't shift or pucker during the quilting process. These pins have a grip-like feature that keeps them in place and prevents them from slipping out of the fabric. One of the main advantages of Magic Pinz Quilting is its versatility. Quilters can create a variety of designs and patterns using this technique, ranging from simple and geometric to complex and elaborate.

MAC Cosmetics stans assemble, we have news and it comes in the form of a slick mascara tube. Although the brand is known for their wide range of base products and iconic Ruby Woo red lipstick, one thing you will never miss from a MAC counter – virtual or IRL – is a mascara for every occasion, be it for length, volume or waterproof properties.

To join their repertoire of mascaras which feature the Extreme Dimension Lash and the Extended Play Lash Mascara, here enters Magic Extension. It comes packaged in a sexy and sleek metallic like tube and claims to lift lashes to a new level, offering a 5mm-fibre boost to that crosshatch effect that adds lots of volume and dimension to your lashes. Well those are bold claims, and we were sold on sexy and sleek packaging to be honest, so in true GLAMOUR nature, we decided to put Magic Extension to the test and here are five people’s honest thoughts.

The whole experience started for me when I opened the packaging. Whether we realise it or not, this is definitely an important part of the game. This is probably one of the best-looking tubes of mascara I now own and I already feel great. The price level of this mascara is probably a level up of what I would normally go for, so the pressure is on. Opening it up and I am liking that brush, I can see the drama I’m about to drag through my lashes.

First thoughts, I love it. On a day where I want a little extra, like I’ve got a big pitch at work, dinner date or just want to feel myself a bit more, then this is it. It has got the balance between classy and sassy just right. There were a few little clumpy bits that I had to work through a couple times, so I wouldn't choose this one for this reason if I was rushing. My biggest gripe with this mascara is that I found it pretty stubborn to get off with my go-to, basic micellar water so I really wouldn’t wear this on the reg. Overall though, when I am on my way to own it, I will be wearing this without a doubt.

Throughout my makeup journey, I’ve tried all the makeup tricks in the book from packing on translucent powder onto my lashes to warming up eyelash curlers in the hopes that they’ll finally hold a curl. But I still struggle with short, straight and stumpy eyelashes. This makes finding a mascara that fulfills my wants and needs a difficult task.

Upon first impressions, the packaging, a metallic silver and black tube is WOW! It looks fun yet sophisticated and will definitely stand out amongst any other plain black mascara tubes in your vanity. The wand is a classic cone shape, making application easy and effortless. In terms of lengthening, unfortunately this mascara added little more to my lashes. However as seen in my photo, it definitely added volume, my eyelashes do look substantially thicker. Overall, with one coat this mascara adds a natural-finish level of volume and length so for those looking for a subtle flutter, the MAC mascara will suit you perfectly.

First thing's first: I'm a very harsh mascara critic. Asking me to test this mascara was the makeup equivalent of sending a top Michelin reviewer to your restaurant. It's the one product I can't live without and I've tried hundreds, both through my lifelong personal love and in my job as a lifestyle journalist. So it takes a mascara that ticks all the boxes – OTT volume without clumping; mega length without drying at the tips; a wand designed to catch every lash without smudging – to impress me.

The MAC mascara certainly delivered on length; the 5mm long fibres instantly cling to your lashes, lifting and lengthening them in just a couple of strokes. The tapered brush is impressive too and delivers XXL volume (which I love). But I found the formula a little clumpy and dry, and noticed a few flakes on my cheeks after a couple of hour's wear – disappointing, because generally I'm a huge MAC fan and wear their lipstick every day. If you're someone who doesn't apply a lot of product, you'll probably love this mascara. But if you do multiple coats like me, you might notice some flakiness.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Mascaras are definitely part of my desert island beauty kit. They have a way to transform a look, and make my undone face look more alert and ready almost instantly. That is if you have a good one of course. Also we know the power of those wispies, they really bring out a feminine touch to your overall look, and accentuate other features of your face.

For mascaras I really value ones that add lots of length and volume. Although I feel that perhaps this mascara didn't give me the level of drama and volume I usually go for, I’d say it would serve as a good everyday natural mascara. I did experience some clumping as I was packing on the layers, but if anything it did give the illusion of extra volume, but of course if you want a whisper looking lash, you will have to work through it a little. The wand was also long enough to spread maximum product in fewer swipes. So if you’re all about time saving, she’s the one! Me personally. I like drama, but no makeup-makeup tribe, this one might be for you.

The first time I tried MAC's Magic Extension mascara it made good on it’s promise to deliver fuller lashes. After applying two coats, my lashes were undoubtedly more defined. But the product’s lengthening properties were more subtle - I certainly looked more awake, but perhaps not the “over-the-too-exaggerated volume”, as is promised on the box.

My second attempt was on the morning of July 12. I was still mourning England’s Euros loss and, frankly, looking a bit worse for wear. Subtle simply wouldn’t do - I needed volume! Length! Lift! This time I whipped out my eyelash curlers and applied layer upon layer of the stuff - top and bottom. Unfortunately, by the third layer, what I call “spider leg lashes” began to emerge - they were clumpy and lacked definition. My verdict? I probably won’t be throwing out the falsies just yet but this one is great for a natural boost.

Never has the mascara game been stronger. With innovative formulations and next-level brushes, there have been plenty of new wand launches this year promising dream lashes, but better still actually delivering. So when we heard the new Mac magic extension mascara (£20, Boots.com) was about to compete with these game-changers, we had to get our hands on the wand before it hit the beauty shelves.

And we were lucky too. A record-breaking 132,000 Boots customers have signed up to be one of the first to get their hands on one here in the UK and Ireland, having already launched in the US and Germany to rave reviews.

Yes, it may have something to do with customers having the chance to win a free sample, but a waiting list with such a huge number just shows how much beauty love there is for the brand and their bestselling products.

The new wand is a fibre mascara to add to the already much-loved lash-defining line-up. Fibre mascaras work slightly different than standard wands in that they contain tiny synthetic fibres in the formulation that attach to your natural lashes at the stroke of the brush to create a fuller effect. They act like extensions, hence the name, but unlike the real thing you can wipe them away at the end of the day.

Volume and lengthening fibre mascaras can be transforming for those with short, thin or sparse lashes, as well as provide a next-level bigger and bolder flutter for those that like to put on the glam. So to see what the wand can really do, it had its work cut out for it on our testers short, blonde lashes.

Reviews for "The Evolution of Magic Pinz Quilting: Then and Now"

1. Jessica - 1 star
Magic pinz quilting was a complete disappointment. The quality of the quilting pins was extremely poor and they bent easily. It was frustrating trying to use them on my quilting projects as they would just break or leave a mark on the fabric. I ended up having to buy new quilting pins from a different brand. Overall, I would not recommend Magic Pinz Quilting to anyone looking for quality quilting pins.
2. Brian - 2 stars
I had high hopes for Magic Pinz Quilting, but unfortunately, they did not live up to my expectations. The pins were difficult to insert into the fabric and they didn't hold securely. During the quilting process, I found myself frequently readjusting the pins, which became frustrating and time-consuming. I also noticed that the heads of the pins started to chip and peel after just a few uses. Overall, I was disappointed with the quality and functionality of the Magic Pinz Quilting and would not purchase them again.
3. Sarah - 2 stars
I found the Magic Pinz Quilting to be too short for my quilting needs. When trying to secure multiple layers of fabric together, the pins simply weren't long enough to hold everything in place effectively. Additionally, the pins would often come loose and fall out, causing me to constantly reposition them. This made the quilting process more tedious and frustrating than it should have been. I would recommend looking for longer quilting pins that provide better stability and hold. Magic Pinz Quilting just didn't cut it for me.
4. David - 3 stars
While the Magic Pinz Quilting did the job, I wasn't entirely impressed with their quality. The pins were thin and can easily bend, making them less durable than I would have liked. I found that I had to be extra cautious when using them to avoid any damage or breakage. Additionally, the packaging was quite flimsy, and some of the pins arrived bent. It was not the best first impression. Although the pins did serve their purpose, I wouldn't consider them a reliable or long-lasting option for quilting.
